A HAMMER from a links course - just like a picture book! Bent, hilly fairways winding through high dunes. Offside threatens deepest rough and also on the fairways one is not sure - here lurk deep pot bunkers. Again and again, beautiful views of the sea offer - it is partly so close, that one should not scatter his strokes too much. Also blows from here like a left-typical stiff breeze. The greens are interesting - not easy to read, but never unfair.
Unfortunately, some lanes are very similar, so the pitch is technically not quite as interesting.
The care condition also has minor defects.
The course can easily be played without a cart. If you, like us, play the day before a visit of the owner Donald, you may even have to do without a cart - they are all for cleaning, overhauling or bomb control...
The clubhouse / restaurant seems a bit "contrived" - Hollywood meets old clubhouse -, the big clock in front is chic, but "a little" showy...

What an experience!
Mr. Trump has once again not to splash out and make a real golf gem occur on the west coast of Ireland.
Already at the sight of the beautiful cottages and stunning hotels like you get to the things to come. Links at its finest!
Even on the range but also corresponds to all expectations. Teas at each Abschlagbox, meticulously stacked pyramids ball with TaylorMade balls and virginal fairway turf. And then of course... Just the most amazing thing I've experienced in golf so far. I can make three spectacular pictures at every hole at least.. Also high the place deserves five stars easy.
Unfortunately the greens were super slow due to maintenance activities and a green was even locked and we had to allude a fairway green. But if in 2016 the Greens are also adapted to the remaining space standard, then is the place the ne plus ultra in Ireland.

I have played almost all the top courses in Ireland! The Doonbeg Links Trump International is my no. 1, ahead of Tralee, Old Portmarnock, Ballybunion and The Iceland! What a Links!!! Pot bunkers, Atlantic Ocean, greens and dunes go a mixture a is unique! In my personal ranking only Royal County Down and Valderrama is against this place!!!
