6 stars for Old and New!!!

So close to the Senior Open, we were able to play the Sunningdale Old Course in the club's last week of opening for guests!
We also opted for a 36-hole day (18L Old & 18L New, all on foot) at one of the finest clubs in Europe.
You walk around 25 - 30km depending on your tee shot and accuracy.
A handicap of 18.5 for men is required to play at Sunningdale, and you'll understand why after just a few holes!
You have to carry 150-180m from the tee to get over the heather!

Old Course:
An unbridled yet meticulously manicured course awaits the golfer in a beautiful forest landscape!
Willie Park Jr., the son of the first Open winner, conjured up Sunningdale in this unique setting in 1901! Of over 1,000 golf courses played, Sunningdale Old is my number two in England, behind Royal St. Georges, and in my top ten worldwide.
Unique!!!

New Course:
Harry S. Colt built the New Course in 1923! A typical Colt course!
The different wind directions are cleverly incorporated into the layout! The New Course, which plays longer and is almost as difficult as the Old Course, is located on the same sand hill and just a touch behind the Old Course.

Conclusion:
The 36-hole day was a financial splurge! But none of us regretted a single cent!
The clubhouse and pro shop are top-notch!
The stands for the Senior Open were already set up!

Sunningdale 6 Stars Plus!
