Yes, it's true, the New Course no longer belongs to the previous owner and is part of the San Roque complex. In my opinion, however, the New Course has the most beautiful views and the most beautiful holes. It's a links-style course by Dye, and that's a good thing!
No parkland! It's long and tricky, and many people get annoyed because it's not easy to play. You have to know where you're supposed to land. No ocean view. Very hilly and undulating fairways, dry and hard holes, the ball rolls for ages. Partly bushland, tall undergrowth. Many elevated tee boxes. Fantastic views with the mountains in the background. Many deep, typical dye bunkers.
Hard, rough grass swallows up the ball, so you sometimes can't even see it. If you ask me, this golf course isn't for perfectionists who constantly complain about everything. Anyone who gets annoyed when the ball rolls further and lands somewhere completely different than expected will certainly find something to criticize here.
Buggy is good, walking is better!

Played today, the washed out bunkers are a gift (it rained heavily during the night) but the rest is no longer worth the money. Holey fairs, chopped up front greens, plenty of bare patches. Very poorly maintained overall. Since the division into 2 courses, the greenkeepers have probably been on the old course 80% of the time. The course won't see us again for a few years :-/

With our Golfamore card we were able to play for half price. The two courses, San Roque Golf Club and San Roque Golf Resort, are next to each other. The course was very well maintained and challenging, especially the many bunkers were a challenge. The clubhouse, changing rooms, toilets and bistro are housed in containers. After the game we went to the neighboring restaurant of the noble San Roque Golf Club and had a very good meal. We can therefore recommend the San Roque Golf Resort.

We have played many courses in the area. This course was in the best condition. Good fairways, fast greens, true to the track. Lots of bunkers dot the New Course which are unfortunately hard, but you shouldn't play into them. With Golf Amore 100€ for 2 with a buggy. After 1pm you are almost alone on the course. The course has a different owner and no longer belongs to San Roque Golf (Old Course).
Reception friendly, buggies good. No clubhouse and only a food truck outside the door. Unfortunately only mobile toilet.
