A great public golf course

End of May 2024 I played Poplar Creek, a public golf course in San Mateo, California. What a pleasant surprise that was. Great golf for much less money than the surrounding famed courses. The course presented itself in very good conditions with truly fast greens which made it hard to make the ball stop when chipping. Plenty of folks on the course even though it was during the week and not always the most intelligent behaviour of golfers in terms of course management (never leave your cart in front of the green forcring to you walk back, etc.).
Similar to courses on the Pacific side, the courses on the Bay side are demanding good shot control at times of strong winds which I had to master. But that makes this course all the more interesting and worth playing.
Given the qualitiy and affordable prices, book early!
