A quirky, intimate, entertaining, tricky little place with grandiose surroundings that I enjoyed a lot. ATTENTION: As is not uncommon in Ireland, several tracks cross, sometimes poorly visible. A fairway is played in both directions (lanes 7 and 8). Precise play, constant attention and good communication are prerequisites. This is a new experience for many players. Hence point deduction.

Dear Golf Friends I played the easy but fun course with lots of beautiful views of the Donegal countryside on the way back to Rosapenna from Ballyliffin in Autumn 2016.
During my research for a new golf book, I had to learn that the club and course ceased operations in February 2019 after 130 years.
This is sad news for all those who like to look around off the beaten track and (like me) often come across worthwhile places. Even if these in terms of care, quality, us. cannot be compared to the famous courses like Royal County Down, Ballybunion or Portmarnock.
