...played the Legends Course, an older Arnold Palmer course...
...a good course that doesn't score points for its length - just under 350 meters from the back tees, the greens, some of which are small and well defended, mean a lot of work. They are narrow or wide with little depth and bunkers or water lurking. In addition, several holes are rather narrow, a solid 3 wood from the tee is usually the better choice.
Hole 1 showed us the master - too over-motivated - the drive with the driver was too long thanks to the dry ground and hard playing surface and ended up in the water.
Waste air galore, some of it following the entire fairway.
The course maintenance is good in parts, but many problem areas are also visible - on the tees, fairways and greens.
The course barely deserves four stars, but the maintenance deserves just under three stars. We were particularly annoyed by the greens, which were not freshly mown - the last time was three or four days ago - so they were not playable as normal.
The resort is extremely spacious and well maintained.
Good clubhouse and nice staff.
Today we experienced a first - in more than 35 years of golf - for the first time we got a flat tire on the course. The dilapidated wooden bridges that we have to drive over were probably responsible for this.
The address in the Albrecht Guide and on the Orange Lake home page is incorrect and misleading.
