Outstanding

OAKS Prague, what a pleasure. I had to take few days to consume the enjoyment. The quality of this course in indisputable. Its top notch. Arriving to the course is a small cloud on the whole trip there. Road from the Prague could be sometimes busy. Course is located in very nice area, close to small village. The resort is not finished yet, so do not expect fancy clubhouse, paved parking lot of big showers. Despite that the green fee is the highest in Czech obviously, unless you know some member who can take you for reasonable fee. Due the high price, quality and location it attract rich people and foreigners, what was probably the reason of this project, since the housing development is out of reach of Czech citizens.
Now back to course. This time I started on driving range, because I heard only superlatives about it, and it was true. Wide, with enough space for everyone, grass only spots with free balls and tees, for paying customers. Its close to clubhouse, parking lot and 1st tee. Great chipping green and puting green with exact same speed and quality like on course. Speed of the greens are awesome there.
Now to the game, starter is very proffesional and smiling at you, welcoming you and will give you also advice for the tees to play.
Do not expect hole map on tees, get a birdie book. It was not designer plan, only nice and clean design, more like proffesional course friendly. 1st hole is downhill par4 with easy to reach green. Roughs are quite deep, but fairways are wide enough for everyone. 2nd hole dogleg left bit tricky but also reachable. Green is well guarded with bunkers. 3rd hole nice par 3 and than starts a bit boring part for me. Next 6 holes are more or less links holes where you observe the housing costructions and you go back and forward. I understand that someone like it and members will hang me on nearest oak, but its my opinion. Its nothing special. From 11th hole you are back on the fun part and big trees course again. Love the rest of the holes, there were some interesting shots. The signature hole for me I would say was 12th and 16th. Have to say that I never seen better bunkers quality and maintanance like at OAKS Prague.
Course is definetely worth of visit and I have to highlight very proffesional, friendly and smiling staff.

Grenade in the south of Prague!

Kyle Phillips, one of the great golf course architects (Kingsbarns, Bernadus, El Maden, Dundonald) is known for his world-class courses! His signature is also unmistakable in CZ. Expansive fairways on which you can run the driver make the game fun! The maintenance is outstanding and is on a par with Fontana and Penati, the greens were really fast as an arrow over 11 on the Metter locker. The first holes are in the woodland and some are right on the edge of the forest. From holes 4 to 12, the holes are very open and reminiscent of links golf!
The bunker landscapes are sensational and brutally difficult.
The clubhouse, the pro shop, the locker rooms are all of the finest quality and at championship level!
The very large and deep designer bunkers are not only visually appealing, but also fun to look at and catch the ball!
The sand bunkers make the course really difficult and, depending on your choice of tee, a monster!
Oaks PGA National will probably be my number 1 in the Czech Republic overall. However, due to the slight monotony of the middle holes 4-14, it cannot compete with the really big courses in the greater region such as Fontana and Royal Bled.
In terms of design and layout, as well as world-class maintenance (Troon Golf), Oaks meets the highest standards!
Unfortunately, it completely loses the comparison with the Central European leader courses (Falkenstein, Budersand, de Pan, Hilversum, Great Northern, Bro Hof Slott, Ullna, Kytäjä Golf, Le Kempferhof, Villa del Este, Modry Las Golf, etc.) due to the slightly boring location and the somewhat monotonous fairways in the middle part of the round.
Nevertheless, you should definitely play the PGA Oaks because the overall package and the extremely high level of service on site are completely convincing.
We paid 110€ green fee and 25€ for 1/2 buggy, which is 100% appropriate for a place (facility) like this!
Ps.: for strong single handicappers, the Oaks PGA National is the ideal shooting course and at the very highest level!!!

Expectations of this place more than met!

A great and very well maintained golf course. Absolutely to recommend! We had a lot of headwinds and side winds that day. That didn't make our game any easier for us (4 players, HC3-8) that day. The layout of the course is very different, but if you want to play a top course, you should treat yourself to this place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was sufficient and good! We will come back!

Too expensive
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 21, 2023
The place has high standards, with excellent friendly service. All things new. The devil is in the details: beam washer partly defective, too few toilets, the freshly sanded greens on 9 holes were not pointed out, resulting in large differences in the putting speed. The whole thing is consistent if you like brand new, not yet ingrown places but overpriced at around €160 green fee.

Hammer club
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 2, 2022
This club is a real hit. In think in 2 or 3 years he will host the Czech Open. The place - indescribably beautiful; cared for without end. Service, whether pro shop, management, kitchen, marshal, lap service, everything is excellent. Fairways, semi-rough, rough, all cut to the centimeter.

Absolute highlight
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 23, 2021
You should definitely play this course!
Prague Oaks is an absolute highlight, although it is still very young.
Let's start with the driving range. The soil is so well cared for that you hardly dare to hit a divot. In contrast to many other courses, you don't just hit flags, but real greens. The range balls are also very good quality and free!
The course is incredibly well maintained, the greens play in a league of their own. From the back boxes, this place is a challenge, as it is hardly noticeable that there are few water hazards.
You have to give the staff an additional star for friendliness. If the right clubhouse is still ready, then Prague Oaks belongs to the absolute premium class and is certainly one of the best courses in Europe!
Thank you for this result and I'll be happy to come back.
