We played this golf course on September 8th, 2024, quite by chance. On the way to Tromsö, there was a sign on the E6 that said "Golfbane". The course has 9 holes and two very differently designed tees on each hole, so that you can also play 18 holes very well. The reception on Sunday morning was super nice, I'm not quite sure if it was the founder, president, manager or all of them in one person. In any case, we quickly got tee time, rental clubs (surprisingly good!), a paper scorecard and valuable instructions. The course itself is nice, but it gets difficult outside the fairways. The layout is rather simple, though. I found the artificial turf greens very difficult. The 3-putt is guaranteed downhill. I completely understand that greens with real grass are a very sensitive issue in this climate, but a synthetic green does take some getting used to.
Why did I still enjoy the course so much? Because you could tell that there are real golf enthusiasts at work here, making the best of difficult conditions. On Sunday afternoon, the golf course was packed. Very nice.
