BAR
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 17, 2017
This is a great clubhouse with great views with friendly people the course is in stunning condition even with the drought situation still ongoing in the cape. I would like to have a beer on a friday evening with my friends but sadly the bar never has the beer i want, GUINNESS, CASTLE MILKSTOUT, KILKENNY. would be nice to enjoy your hospitality at the bar in the future with my friends and talk golf etc.

Special scenic surrounding

A nice course.
Green fairways in good condition.
Very relaxing with friendly and supportive staff. Good selection at the pro shop.
Playing with Table Mountain view around Capetown Stadium.
Not the easiest course with some water obstacles on the way.
Good value for money.

A well-kept & cozy parkland course
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed December 17, 2019
The Metropolitan Golf Course is located in the middle of Cape Town and directly at Nelson Mandela Station. The course now offers no sporting highlight and is generally more of a relaxed, cozy parkland course. Nicely designed, green, flowery and well maintained! What is special is that you play the 18 holes 2x9 from different tees with different flag positions. Ie a red and a white flag is on the same green, which sometimes led to a bit of confusion :) which hole you are alluding to.
The fairways flat and hardly any (bad) obstacles that challenge you. You only have to go over water at 2 holes, but many bunkers are easily playable. Hardly rough.
I liked the many feathered spectators on the round. Unpleasant their legacies.
The atmosphere around the stadium was fantastic at dusk. Very friendly staff. There is a restaurant and a kiosk for snacks and drinks. They are currently converting something.
In terms of price, but great, for the second round we paid 200 ZAR (converted 18 €) for two. The pro shop has super cheap super new secondlife balls from top brands. 10 balls 100 ZAR (8 €). The course is not a highlight and not a comparison to the spectacular courses in South Africa but highly recommended for a spontaneous round of golf in the middle of Cape Town City.

Pleasant 9- / (18) -hole city course
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed January 6, 2019
It is a pleasant, relatively easy but fun to play city course in front of beautiful scenery, for me just under 4 stars worth.
If you play 18 holes you have the same tea boxes twice but you have 18 different greens (not every 9/18 hole) water hazards, well placed sand bunkers (good sand) and occasionally a fairway tree make the game Interesting. good value for money. friendly service.

Not created during the World Cup
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed November 12, 2018
The course existed for a long time the Football World Cup and the construction of the stadium.
With regard to layout and staff, previous reviews have said everything. The clubhouse is rather simple. good is the absolute city proximity as well as the Tafelbergpanorama.
Because of the nearly identical smile 10-18 the system does not produce more than 3 *

Golfing with WM Feeling
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 2, 2016
Played on 02/24/2016. The flat 9-hole golf course right next to the stadium of Cape Town, close to the promenade and shopping mile Victoria & Albert Waterfront is ideal for a quick 9 hole round in the middle of the metropolis of Cape Town. arose in the course of the World Cup, the tracks are not too demanding but offer well placed bunkers and a few well-laid water hazards. The fairways are usually open, but you should partially high rough shun. The condition was so far in order and the greens very fast. While there are only 9 holes but for 18 greens. So if the round plays twice on the one hand different tee positions and on the other hand, other greens (partly double greens) to preview. The clubhouse is relatively small and functional, but offers everything golfers need. The welcome as a guest at the ProShop was friendly. The Caddy Master briefly explained the way to the first tee, which performs through a tunnel under the access road. After 5 holes you have to back through the tunnel to the other side of the plant. It has been almost uninterrupted views of Table Mountain and Lions Head. However, one also has the corresponding traffic noise of the big city, especially on the tracks next to the road and gets possibly the bustle of the Surrounding sports facilities. A range does not exist, only a few networks and two putting greens. The green fee is 20, - € adequately for 9 holes, a previous tee time reservation is recommended. Those who want to combine a city trip with a quick round of golf, is not entirely wrong here.

Magnificent "packaging"
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed March 15, 2014
Flat and with few tricky tasks configured, the place is more likely to be described as easy. But the special thing about this course is its unique location. Applied directly to the great World Cup Stadium, one has on almost every hole from a great view of Table Mountain, Signal Hill and Lion Head.
Fairways and greens are 1a. Specifically, the configuration as a 18-hole course is only 9 fairways. The discounts vary slightly - and the greens are the red flags for the front nine and the white flags for the back nine available.
The clubhouse is designed rather simple and with little charm. The friendliness of the staff is enough - period.
The charm of the plant is certainly its great location in the center-near.
For an afternoon round (eg after a visit to Table Mountain or a paragliding from Signal Hill) Course of a recommendation is but well worth.
