This is a great clubhouse with great views with friendly people the course is in stunning condition even with the drought situation still ongoing in the cape. I would like to have a beer on a friday evening with my friends but sadly the bar never has the beer i want, GUINNESS, CASTLE MILKSTOUT, KILKENNY. would be nice to enjoy your hospitality at the bar in the future with my friends and talk golf etc.

Very relaxing with friendly and supportive staff. Good selection at the pro shop.
Playing with Table Mountain view around Capetown Stadium.
Not the easiest course with some water obstacles on the way.

The Metropolitan Golf Course is located in the middle of Cape Town and directly at Nelson Mandela Station. The course now offers no sporting highlight and is generally more of a relaxed, cozy parkland course. Nicely designed, green, flowery and well maintained! What is special is that you play the 18 holes 2x9 from different tees with different flag positions. Ie a red and a white flag is on the same green, which sometimes led to a bit of confusion :) which hole you are alluding to.
The fairways flat and hardly any (bad) obstacles that challenge you. You only have to go over water at 2 holes, but many bunkers are easily playable. Hardly rough.
I liked the many feathered spectators on the round. Unpleasant their legacies.
The atmosphere around the stadium was fantastic at dusk. Very friendly staff. There is a restaurant and a kiosk for snacks and drinks. They are currently converting something.
In terms of price, but great, for the second round we paid 200 ZAR (converted 18 €) for two. The pro shop has super cheap super new secondlife balls from top brands. 10 balls 100 ZAR (8 €). The course is not a highlight and not a comparison to the spectacular courses in South Africa but highly recommended for a spontaneous round of golf in the middle of Cape Town City.
