Madinat Makadi Golf course is designed to accommodate the highest caliber international Championships. With over seventy-five hundred yards (7,500 yds.) 6880 meter from the Championship tees to the middle of the green the course challenges the best players in the world. The course has also six sets of tees to accommodate all levels of golfers from beginners to touring professionals.
Each hole at Madinat Makadi is strategically designed with risk/rewards shot-making opportunities through the course. The front nine is distinctly different than the back nine, being flatter with a series of ponds and creeks to challenge the golfer, whereas the back nine is routed through the hills and wadis in the desert. The challenge on back nine is due to the natural topography that was utilized in the design. The overall golf experience at Madinat Makadi is designed to challenge the best golfers while allowing the average players and beginners to enjoy their day on the course.

Overpriced average course

Played here last week, paid £115 which included 18 holes, range balls, golf club hire and buggy.
The course itself is well kept, very challenging due to the amount of bunkers and wind.
The one major downside is the golf clubs as they are very old and below par, the grips might as well not be on due to the very poor quality. I asked for a better set but was advised these are the only ones they give for hire and as it’s holiday golf it’s the best they can do. My issue here is that if one is paying £115 for a round the least you can expect is a decent set of clubs.
The poor quality of the clubs spoilt the round.

The par 72 course plays relatively long (5,864 m) even from the third men's tee, especially in relatively strong winds. The course is in good condition, the fairways are beautiful, but the bunkers are relatively hard and not very easy to play.
The greens are nicely undulating, but unfortunately somewhat rough, uneven, and not very true – a drawback probably caused by the slightly different grass variety (bentgrass?). Perhaps rolling the greens would be a good idea?
Holes 7 and 11 are beautiful; overall, the course has an interesting layout.
