Good Golf Option if on a Budget

Was in the DR on a Volunteer Vacation working with International House of Hope, a 501-c3 providing medical services in the barrios of Puerta Plata. This course is a Muni type played by people who actually live there.
The track leads you through the community of homes and condos and you are greeted by residents walking or driving. Greens could be better but are close to the elevated tees course is very walkable.
Had fun very friendly staff. Paid about $30 rate was much cheaper than Playa Dorado in PP and Playa Grande in Cabarete which are over $100. Caddies don't speak much English and some do not know golf.
