Brilliant course

We always play Kinghorn on our annual pilgrimage to St Andrews - course layout is unique in a fantastic old fashioned way - green always good - very friendly staff - atmosphere and views top notch - cheap green fees - just a great day out!
Small friendly links course

Kinghorn is a compact 18 hole links course set in hilly terrain overlooking the Firth of Forth. The holes are not particularly long, but in the wind pose a considerable challenge. Cheap green fee, small friendly clubhouse, greens in great condition, but no trolleys for hire - or none left - on the day of our visit, so bring your own or use a stand bag! Our round was great fun!

The cheapest course of our stay impressed us with its unique microclimate. While it was sunny and warm almost everywhere, fog and cold drifted across the course with a southerly wind from the Firth of Forth, and suddenly we could feel what people always say about Scotland. The course itself was, unfortunately, in poor condition. The drought had affected it more severely than any other course we've seen here.
Some of the lanes crisscross, which can be dangerous. However, the atmosphere here is very relaxed, and we didn't encounter any dangerous encounters.
The course is hilly, bumpy in places, challenging, albeit short, and has hardly any real obstacles. The obstacles lie in the ability to adapt to the conditions, which I'm not familiar with from Germany. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a decent round. Unfortunately, the clubhouse is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we didn't meet anyone other than the starter/receptionist.
