Characteristics
One of Schleswig-Holstein's most demanding 18-hole courses is situated in a magnificent location directly at the convent-forest Preetz, only a few kilometers from Kiel. Embedded in a typical terminal moraine landscape that is crossed by age-old and new hedgerows, the course offers different levels to choose from. The course, which is almost "mountainous" in comparison to the general features of the region, offers altitude differences of over 20 m and many water hazards and biotopes. This makes the course a real challenge for everyone.

We played the course as part of an arrangement. We were informed at reception that it wasn't in very good condition due to the lack of water.
What we found was something I'd never seen in more than 20 years of golfing. The course is a disaster. The bunkers are overgrown, there were no rakes. The greens are overgrown with weeds and unplayable. The tees looked as if they hadn't been groomed for months, and there were no greenkeepers to be seen.
The facility is not a golf course but a field and looks as if there is no money left for its maintenance.
Never again.
By the way, there were no other players present besides us. Word has probably already spread among golfers that we shouldn't go here anymore.

Course played on July 30,2024 the best thing about it: interesting, varied courses in hilly terrain. That's it.
Now the unfortunately bad facts: maintenance is urgently needed!!!
The fairways are barely distinguishable from the rest of the terrain; the height of the grass is so high that the ball usually sinks in by half its diameter. Greens: also twice as high as usual; therefore extremely slow and very bumpy. The hole for the flag is so overgrown that it is at least 20% smaller!!! Bunkers: not maintained for at least half a year; hard as a rock and overgrown with weeds!!!
Conclusion: even the reduced green fee of €40 was too much for this course; it is simply no fun to play such courses!!!
There are definitely better ones in the area!

I played the course again after a long time and I'm more than disappointed. The greens are not only broken by the cranes (we were told so). In addition, the tees are unkempt and uneven and the fairways are full of clover and dandelions. I give 2 stars for the layout of the course, but it's not really playable in this condition.
