Characteristics
Katathong Golf Resort & Spa is a one of most challenging golf course in southern Thailand. it is located in Phang-Nga province which is only 80 km from Phuket International Airport. It has been converted from Old Tin Mine into a challenging golf course. its named “a valley of Dreams” as it is surrounded by the mountains, waterfall and streams.
Golfers will enjoy the challenges offered with a natural by the narrow fairways, big ponds and streams that require more strategic thinking, precision and accuracy, and also exciting Par 3 holes that go up to the hill on N0.17, where you can’t see any area of a green from a tee off. as well as down hill on No.10, where you can see the whole green but a wind and big ponds are your obstacles

A hiding gem golf course in Thailand

I went to this course as introduced by my Thai friend. course is 1.30 hours from Phuket airport by car but the road is ok and safe to travel. club house is huge and nice as Chino-Euro style. fully facilities was prepared such as locker room, restaurant, free Wifi, kiosks, driving range and accommodations.
Katathong course was transformed from the old Tin ming, then the layout is quite outstanding with a big pond and narrow fairways. it is a bit difficult for beginner but it is challenging course compared to some courses in Phuket. it is worth to visit. hole no. 11, is great Par 5 with 531 yards by white pin. we had to hit downhill across the pond to the fairway. hole no. 10 Par 3 is a signature hole, we had to hit downhill into the island green. on the other hand, the uniqure hole should be hole no. 17, upto the hill. we had to hit up to the green on a 20-feet hill. i never seen such as hole like this... amazing. sure i will come back here again soon.
The best Golf Course in Phang-nga

This is a hiding gems golf course, it just 1.15 hrs drive from Phuket airport. the layout is quite difficult for beginners, fairways are narrow as being from old Tin mining. the back nine holes are very good especially hole no. 16/17/18. once you are in Phang-nga or phuket, you must come to visit here

The course is scenically stunning, well-maintained, and offers a high-quality golfing experience overall. Friendly staff, a reliable caddie, and a relatively quiet atmosphere made for a very pleasant round. Fairways and bunkers were in good condition, and the short-cut, partially sanded greens played fast and fair. However, some holes require a noticeable carry, and the 17th hole, in my opinion, is less well-designed. I highly recommend this course and would gladly return!
