Ocean Links for Tourists
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 9, 2024
I played the Ocean Links course at Half Moon Bay last week of May 2024 because I was keen on soaking in the Pacific views (that I already come to know years ago when playing Torrey Pines). Ocean links is part of a 2 18 hole layout, the seconed course is the old course which I did not play.
I played Sunday before Memorial Day which was a huge mistake because as many resort courses they let everyone play - even folks that have never played golf before and don't know the slightest about the game. Our grouping had to wait more than 30min on the 18th tee because upfront two players where posing for their websites taking selfies and posing fake t-shots. So our group ended up playing for nearly 6 hours!
The course is a magnificent layout that unfolds across the rolling hills above the cliff over the Pacific. Beautiful sights and impressions. Excellent course conditions with fast greens and fairways that let the ball role endlessly.
I can only recommend to avoid weekends when playing Half Moon Bay because otherwise you regret the USD 200 gree fee.

Played the course many years ago. At that time there were only 1 x 18 holes (today the Old Course) and the luxury hotel did not exist either. Even then, the course had a few holes on Pazific like the 17.
The rest went through dense buildings without a look.
