Reviews 1 - 9 from 9

Isn' t the best one, but is a very nice one, definitely!
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 3, 2013
I was playing there in a tournament day and they were very nice to let me play before the tournament. Golf course is almost well maintained : they have driving mat for driving range, but the HEAD PRO let me play from the grass, in a lateral side. They have a mistake about the distances for the 9th hole and no informations about holes no. 11 and 12. Therefore, I suggest to buy a stroke saver, which is very useful! As difficult... is not very difficult, but still is, and the staff is very friendly. The golf club house and the restaurants look very imppresive.
Below the page, it worths!

Absolutely good alternative to Knokke-Heist / Royal Zoute
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 26, 2020
Played on 8/26/2020. The flat 18-hole golf course is located in Holland in Oostburg, not far from the Belgian border and close to the famous North Sea coastal town of Cadzand. When you drive through the gate you already have the first glimpse of the sophisticated, mighty clubhouse with an attached restaurant (not tested). Everything is well signposted. The driving range is behind the parking lot across the street and looks a bit lost. The 18 fairways (PAR 73) are all the more interesting. A rather unusual expectation is 5 x PAR3 and 6 x PAR5. The defining element is water, which comes into play at many holes in the form of various island greens. High HC should have enough balls with them. There are also many well-placed bunkers, some of which are half pot bunkers with steep bunker walls facing the green. A good drive is required at 13 to reach the fairway across a lake. It never gets boring. The condition of our game was basically okay, even if some greens had brown or slightly bald spots. Drainage was laid on many fairways recently, which was clearly visible. But in contrast to some courses in Germany at this time of year, the fairways were lush green. The pelicans that are kept here were nice to look at from the 9th green. We had reserved a start time a few days in advance for a Tuesday morning by email. The request was confirmed very quickly. Since it rained heavily in the morning, we postponed the start time twice in the afternoon, which was not a problem in each case. In the afternoon it was dry and the place empty. We saw players here and there, but there weren't any players directly in front of or behind us, so that two of us could easily play through in three hours. Yes, the green fee is 80 € at the upper limit and only justified if the course is in top condition. A small reduction would certainly have been appropriate for our game. The lady in the secretariat / pro shop was very friendly and explained everything to us. I can recommend at least one round at the Oostburg Golf Club if you are in the vicinity. Especially when you are in the neighborhood (Royal Zoute in Knokke-Heist) because of the HC restriction of 18.4 (with HC 22) you are not allowed to go on the championship course even at off-peak times even though you are ready for the generous green fee of 110 € to pay.

Unkempt and expensive
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 28, 2020
Played on 07/28/20, after payment I was informed that some greens were not in the best shape!
The greens are completely unacceptable and have nothing to do with golf.
The green fee is completely covered with 80 €.
I broke off at 14, because to make matters worse there were extremely bad golfers, 3 flight, in front of me, so that I stood 20 minutes at each hole.
No sign of a Marshall.
It is a pity that the space has decreased and the information about the greens only came after I had paid.

Beautiful place but...
1.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 11, 2020
... outrageously high green fee! The round now costs € 80. As if that weren't enough, you charge € 90 on public holidays such as May 1st (no holiday in NL), Ascension Day, Pentecost and August 15th (holiday in Belgium).
In view of the many tourists, you obviously want to "tap something" here.
As I said, the place is very nice and varied. It is very interesting for good players. However, due to the green fee prices and their design, I recommend other places.

Varied place with numerous water hazards
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed May 29, 2018
We played the course on the 22nd and 25th of May 2018.
On arrival, the pompous clubhouse - both inside and out - catches the eye. The welcome was friendly and professional. The shallow parkland course has well placed water hazards on 13! Tracks including an island green. Therefore, especially the not so good golfer should pack a decent number of balls. The condition of the place was perfect. However, several drainage grooves penetrate the golf courses. A special feature are the pelicans in one of the water hazards.
After the round you have a wonderful view of the long track 18 (par 5) from the terrace of the club house.
The only downside: the green fee is quite high with EUR 75. Therefore, there are "only" four stars.

Neglected
1.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 5, 2017
Have played a few years ago already times this place, was of the state totally negatively surprised.
Drainage channels in June everywhere, all taps uneven and so firm that one could hardly aufteenteen.
In the middle of June the fairways are more a meadow than a well-kept golf course
No warning signs at the TEE with explanation of the respective course.
In the square everyone is left with a credit card, etiquette is an absolute foreign word.
We played behind a flight that took 5 1/2 hours.
Playing through is a foreign word.

Beautiful Place
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed July 1, 2016
We often play on this course. In recent months, some was renewed by felling trees and some deep bunkers were added to which one should come as far as possible. At first 9 are particularly 7 and 8, outstanding. The 7 is a par 4 with a slight dogleg and followed the same water. In a beautiful drive you can reach the green with the 2 stroke. The 8 is a par 3 and the water to the Green is a dangerous size. Caution is advised. In the past 9 I like especially the 13 where you win diagonally across the water at length. The par 3 of the 15 is very spectacular as this is played transversely across the water to the green but if the impact is not the same sitting of the ball in the water or ends up in the scrub. De Brugse Vaart is worth a round of golf.

Round of golf
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed September 20, 2013
First impression: access and clubhouse impressive. Friendly reception. Green fee € 65, -. The driving range is located outside of the facility and is rather simple, but functional. As the weather these days is rainy, windy and sunny is limited, the expectations were set low. However, the railways were in relatively good condition. Wind plays a minor role by the most narrow and tree-lined paths. The greens were ok and are often protected by sand bunkers. These were almost all filled by the previous rain water. The ways extremely softened with backhoe works on two tracks. Here in the Sauerland, the roads are better secured. Against all odds: great tracks, beautifully landscaped with water hazards and bunkers, big trees. Immediately, but only in good weather!
