In addition to wonderful views of the Lower Bavarian hills on a nice little golf course and terrible greens, I remember the extraordinarily friendly welcome and a greenkeeper who stopped with the lawnmower and asked where I was from. For me, the Leonhardshaun golf course near Landshut / Ergolsbach in Lower Bavaria is a golf jewel box and always a particularly beautiful visit experience with the feeling of being on holiday.
Why:
- the course impresses with its beautiful landscape and panoramic views from the clubhouse balcony and opens your heart with its many friendly and nice people (by that I mean the staff but also the golfers).
- the driving range offers everything you could want from a driving range and practice area, only a bunker is missing.
- the 9-hole course with its well-maintained, relatively small and difficult greens offers everything you would expect from a nice 9-hole round. The condition of the course is very good thanks to the tireless work of Markus Neumüller and his professional team.
- The Pro Shop and Erwin Weber are exceptionally competent, friendly, helpful and super nice.
- the clubhouse Panorama Restaurant Leon's offers excellent, exquisite cuisine and exceptionally good and friendly service under the direction of head chef Matthias Benneke. The very good food on the generously filled and beautifully presented plates on the panoramic balcony on a beautiful sunny day always feels like a holiday in Tuscany to me.
What else would be desirable:
- a bunker and a sign saying "next tee" between holes 7 and 8 (at the top after the short climb at the fork) would be nice. The club champion signs should be removed again😃
Finally, it is worth mentioning the great price-performance ratio and the relaxed, very pleasant atmosphere of the golf course, where every golfer and visitor is warmly welcomed.

Played in Leonhardshaun today. Received a very warm welcome - from members and the owner. Discounts on the DR from both mats and grass. Chipping and putting green available - but no bunker. But it is not necessary either, since there are no bunkers on the pitch (yet). Were pointed out before the round that the place is quite wet due to the heavy rainfall. The tee boards are quite getting used to. But since the tracks are not very long, it is not so tragic. The greens have to be approached tactically, as they either hang forwards or backwards (which could be dangerous when it's dry). At the moment you should avoid the roughs as much as possible because of the wetness. Greens partially undulate but relatively high due to the rainfall and thus partially slow. Good restaurant and nice pro shop. Conclusion: Charming and idyllic place. Tip: The two of us had a 3-person flight ahead of us (partly still no handicap) and it took us 2 hours. Please let faster flights play through, then it's a little more relaxed for everyone. Still a nice relaxing day.
