Characteristics

Uncomplicated. Difficult. Entertaining.

Already at the start it becomes clear: This will not be a normal round of golf. After the uncomplicated reception, a look at the steam train next door and a few blows on the small DR, it goes up. Not easy to find the ideal racket. Even more difficult is the approach to a very small green (in amazingly good quality!). Even then, it goes up and down constantly, and violently (the recommendation to wear the bag is very appropriate). The not always wide fairways are also surrounded by high rough in July - here it makes no sense to look for a ball. If you want to play a good score in Realp, you have to know the course well and master all the racquets well. It's dramatic in the end. After a very, very idiosyncratic / extreme hole 8 - for me the only weak point of the course - it goes down steeply at the end. Memories of hole 15 in St. Vigil / Kastelruth (South Tyrol) are awakened, where the par 3 with the "officially" largest difference in altitude between tee and green can be found. I am not sure if Realp is not ahead. Conclusion: A great place for in between - but not to play a good score, but to play golf in alpine nature. Just for fun - Ball losses included.
