Great cinema, but brutally difficult

We were (very) fortunate to be able to play our first round with a club member who introduced us to the hidden peculiarities of the course… and that was much needed.
The course is an unforgettable challenge and the constant obstacle is the topography:
It's a brisk up and down course, including some sideways slopes (but manageable on foot). The fairways feel like a Persian rug in your living room. The sand bunkers are deep but filled with perfectly soft sand. Water hazards abound, and the greens are PGA standard: fast, undulating, and frustrating. Signature holes abound. Hole 10 is the most brutal I've ever seen.
Conclusion: for us, the discovery of the year, with guaranteed repeat success.

The 19th hole is an upscale restaurant, with white tablecloths and waiters like those at a 5* grand hotel.
Absolutely classy. Be sure to reserve a table before you go! We were just lucky enough to snag a table.
The only real downside to this place is that the signage is poor, and it's easy to get lost in the wrong direction.
P.S. Severiano Ballesteros was a brilliant golfer and also, demonstrably, a brilliant golf course designer, which he undoubtedly demonstrated with Golf Santa Marina. Behind the white tees, there's also the SEVE tee. However, it's only suitable for very low single handicappers... and not for the first round... otherwise, take at least 20 balls with you.

Beautiful plant

Very nice facility that had a change of operator due to financial difficulties a few years ago.
The place is sporty and very demanding, 9 hole (par 3) with a "blind tee" to the Club house, in the hope that is not yet fallen into the water of the ball behind the embankment.
In the region partly strong winds are present which require an exact match, and sometimes it's better to keep the balls flat.
Very beautiful old clubhouse, very friendly service and the bronze statue of "Seve" in front of it is unique.
