Great design, poor management

We spend 2 days there with friends. On 1st look. Good looking hotel and course. On second one there is many things to improve. 1st of all course is not in the shape to charge 75 Eur it shoud be max 30 Eur. Greens are aerificated and with many bad spots. 2nd after round if you try to use shower you need ask for towel and card at reception. Once you are in shower you realize that if more than one person try to use it at same time you will get cold water only for 75 Eur. So even I love it here not sure if I will come back again.

The layout of the 18 lanes leaves no room for boredom. Beautifully planned into nature and supplemented with other trees, bushes and small lakes. The reception at the golf reception - extremely friendly and courteous and very flexible. Tees and the wide fairways are great to play. The greens were not great due to the long drought. On the second round we were the first on the course and the freshly mown greens were better than the day before. Unfortunately, one notices the lack of staff for the mowing work around the bunkers and the maintenance of the bunkers. But that couldn't negatively affect our overall impression. The price-performance ratio is absolutely sensational.
The only massive criticism. The driving range could be a bit neater. There were new carpets but the cleanliness... Putting and chipping green was not really "in operation" on our two days.
All in all - we had two nice rounds of golf which we would rate 4-5 stars.

We were in Karlovy Vary for a few days and played several rounds in Cihelny (and other places). Cihelny mainly because neither the long-established GC Karlsbad nor Sokolov can hold the water.
Speaking of water. When we were there, the course was very wet and no ball rolled more than a few meters because it had been raining the days before. Well, there's nothing you can do about the weather.
However, the greenkeepers compensated for this by doing a great job - especially with the greens. These were very quick and well maintained, if you disregard the fact that most players there - like most other holiday spots - are reluctant to bend down to get active with the pitch fork.
Everyone should touch their own noses. We have corrected 5-8 tokens on every green on every round.
The place is "only requirement 70" - but it has it all.
Great tees in the depth of partly wide fairways pair with really very demanding par4 tracks (doglegs) and a 200 m par 3.
Many lanes are lined with water hazards.
As an exciting conclusion then the 18, which goes uphill again tight.
The staff was friendly and helpful. After lane 9 there is a small hut where you can take a break (drinks and small meals) and watch the subsequent flights while playing on the green of 9.

We played Cihelny in mid-September 18 but were not 100% sure of the place. Track 1-5 in the upper area were as well as track 18 very dry and hard. The road to Karlovy Vary and the (rare) passing train disturb not really. The sausage after the hole no. 9 were fresh from the grill and quite tasty.
