DisappointIng Afternoon - Give this a Miss

Peralada Golf Course looked good on the website and the club house, pro shop and caddy shop all looked like the five star course I expected it to be but what a let down. The course is quite ordinary, the greens inconsistent and the bunkers filled with gravel and not sand. To make the afternoon even more disappointing was the really slow pace of play. Over 5 hours to complete the round and not surprising given the inconsiderate groups ahead who had no idea of course etiquette and the hold up behind them. This is not was not a cheap round of golf and those playing were supposed to be adequate golfers. Clearly not the case and the course managers were totally oblivious to the slow play.

Banal and interchangeable

Played today, forgotten tomorrow. The flat, partly slightly undulating course offers little and poses no great challenge for the average golfer.
The fairways were just about OK (forgivable in December), the sand bunkers were either pure concrete or filled with fine gravel, so definitely not sand and therefore hardly playable.
The fore-greens were simply unplayable, but the greens themselves were really good.
In short, no chance of repeat visits – and I can't understand how and for what 5 stars could be awarded here. From my point of view, it's the upper end of 3 stars.

The 19th hole is a truly first-class and highly recommended restaurant.
GF off-peak / peak season €80 / €105

Dear Player, Thank you for sharing your feedback and for visiting us recently. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we truly appreciate your comments, which help us improve.
Regarding the bunkers, due to the local climate conditions and strong winds, we initially opted for coarser sand to prevent displacement. However, we understand this affects playability. This year, we have scheduled tests with finer sand to provide a better playing experience.
As for the temporary greens, we are currently carrying out a major upgrade to our irrigation system to make the course more sustainable. This involves work on some holes, and to maintain the possibility of playing 18 holes, we have installed temporary greens. We understand this may impact the quality of the round and appreciate your perspective. Perhaps your experience would have been different playing only the open holes with real greens.
The works will continue until the end of winter, and we hope you can visit us again when the course is in optimal condition. We would love for your next visit to be a complete experience that meets our standards.
Thank you also for highlighting the quality of our restaurant, Hoyo 19. It will be a pleasure to welcome you back both on the course and in our gastronomic offering!

This place is a blessing.😊👏⛳️

This also applies to the restaurant, the resort and the pro shop.

We found the course to be in excellent condition for this time of year. The fairways were also much better than what we have usually played in this region. The greens were a little longer than in summer, but still quite fast and true to the line.
The first nine holes are quite challenging, it goes up and down and there are also the odd tree in the way. On the second nine, some of the holes have a simple layout. But there are still challenges to come!

The course is playable for players of all handicap classes. Only real beginners will quickly reach their limits here. The course is easy to walk for normal, athletic golfers.
