Nestled between the scenic splendour of the 12 Bens mountain range and the rugged Atlantic ocean, lies Connemara Golf Links. From the testing dog leg opening hole through to the breathtaking back 9, which have been acknowledged as the "equal to any in the world", Connemara is an enduring monument to its designer Eddie Hackett.
Hackett graciously acknowledged that the rugged landscape of Connemara contributed greatly to the uniqueness of the design. His deft ability to enhance what nature presented him with results ìn a dramatic championship course, ready made to tempt those who savour beauty - and a beast!
The unveiling in the year 2000 of our new additional 9 holes hugging the sea shore adds a further dimension to the exhilarating Connemara golfing experience.

Very warm welcome in the golf shop and great support.
At the end of May I was allowed to play yellow/red spontaneously (booked online 2 days in advance) and knocked it off from white (because of the view! (;-)). Very wide fairways and if you don't hit them, you often still find the balls in the rough. The greens are large and very fast. The variance of the individual holes may not be interesting enough for everyone, but the course is more likely to be played because of the insanely great views of the sea, mountains, lakes, etc.
An unforgettable golf pleasure!!!

We had booked tee times incl. Cart via e-mail about 4 weeks before and on the same. ways to get confirmation. Background for the cart are or were massive knee problems. Then on match day 09.08.22, sorry no carts. Supposedly some broke and he didn't know of any booking. I then showed him the aforementioned booking confirmation. But that didn't interest him. Ultimately no cart. Only when I see that a four-man flight with three carts and an average age of under 30 goes out is the statement "other players also have health problems" a bad joke. The course itself is a typical links course. Rather boring, but well maintained. The greens are lightning fast and very wavy. Conclusion from me: You can play but you don't have to. Only the tee on the 18 there is the view is spectacular.

We played the courses "Green / Violet". Although I had a score card with the courses, but until the third hole we were not sure if we were really right. A better signage and event. Flags in the respective course colors would certainly be of advantage for non-locals. Otherwise the place was in a very good condition the greens fast and especially the back-nine "violet" with the tall greens very demanding. Also, the length (played by white) in combination with the wind is often not always easy if you do not hit the fairway. Cost me 6 balls. Staff very friendly and helpful. You can recommend the course.
