Outdated 9L Alpenplatz with a beautiful view of a lake. In the background a decommissioned nuclear power plant and industrial wasteland. Lots of inclines, varied tracks with different discounts for the second 9L. Greens in very good condition. Restaurant with a varied daily menu. Possibility to spend the night with the Womi in peace and enjoy the view.

The Spaniards would call the area around Ponferrada "agreste": picturesque roughness. You could also call it ugly, but it's an ugliness that fascinates me. A wide high valley full of trees. And full of brownfield sites! There are old chimneys everywhere that nobody clears away. That works! High-voltage lines stretch across the mountains, supplying the whole of Spain with electricity.
An honest working-class town, I like that. The golf course fits that. You hardly find him in all the wilderness. At its edge are a few semi-overgrown industrial ruins that you can aim for from the driving range.
I played the course in April 2022, a Wednesday morning. He was in very good condition. Fairways and greens are well cut and very hard. As it should be. You feel wonderfully immersed in all of nature. Only the semi-rough wasn't cut, the daisies cost me a few unnecessary balls. This may look different in a short time. The greens are beautiful, some tees are elevated, the terrain is moderately wavy. Easy to walk.
