We drive past pretty houses in traditional southern architecture.
The clubhouse, on the other hand, appears rather modest, but serves its purpose perfectly. The entire infrastructure is of a high standard...
The two 9 hole loops are long, first in a southwesterly direction, then in an easterly direction, on 17 holes you can see water.
We only know of one course that was built by father and son - Hammock Creek in Palm City, by Jack Nicklaus I & II - now we play a second one, Robert Trent Jones (Senior 1906-2000) & Jr.
A course from the drawing board of the grandmaster's family, one of the last for which the senior sharpened the pencils.
The senior has built or renovated over 500 courses, the junior over 300 courses.
It is a great course that offers a lot of space to play, provided you use the right weapon from the tee. The course offers 375 yards from the back tees, the fairway bunkers are perfectly placed - target golf is required, but the wind spoiled our game a little today - often strong head wind.
We hit a few bunkers, but also water - it was expensive...
It's "Augusta Week" and the greens were appropriate - extreme speed and very tricky greens. Not only did they deliver three putts, but a few extreme pin positions were also responsible.
You can give the layout five stars, but you don't have to, the course maintenance is excellent, in many parts close to perfection!!!
