Why the Catalonia Hotel neglects the Cabeza (next to the hotel) and Caribe golf courses so much is inexplicable to me.
Even the beginning was uncomfortable. Due to the previous 4 star rating, we were of the opinion that the place would be nicer. When we asked whether we could play the 9 holes a second time, the gentleman in the smallest pro shop in the world told us that the course was fully booked and that we were therefore only allowed to play 9 holes. That's why we have to take a cart and not go.
So it was that we were the only players far and wide, that didn't surprise us anymore!
Course in a very bad condition, bumpy tee-offs, fairways with many bald spots, in the bunker there were sometimes fist-sized stones and gravel, greens not mowed, etc, etc...
Space maintenance under the dog!
Fairways quite nice, course relatively narrow, but otherwise okay.
No gastro available.
Worst of all, my wife was not allowed to use the hotel toilet while waiting for the shuttle.

We were in September / October 2014 at the Hotel Catalonia Royal, which is adjacent to the golf course.
The golf course was in very good condition. The place was permanently maintained.
We played the course several times. The course is flat but varied (lots of water and bunkers). The fairways were very close to the part and the palm trees were sometimes a bit cumbersome. The course consists of 2x 3.6x couple pair 4 and a pair of fifth
We were able to play without reservation. The place was less crowded in September. Hotel guests of the Catalonia we paid per person $ 35 for 9 holes and $ 50 for 18 holes (including Cart, which is mandatory). Rental clubs, there was $ 50 U.S..
