Wonderful views, terrific greens
5.0 of 5 starsReviewed February 24, 2010
A visual treat - Edinburgh and the Forth Bridges provide a wonderful canvas. The course is on the short side, but plays much more difficult than it looks. Stay on the right side of the hole...
In first rate condition, with the greens very quick and true.
Friendly reception in the well stocked Pro Shop and fine food and drink in the Clubhouse.

Good value for money

During our golf holiday, we got much closer to the golf mecca in the second week. Burntisland is located on the Firth of Forth and only 45 minutes from St. Andrews. With a green fee of £35-50, it ranks mid-range among the golf courses here. In terms of content, it offers a varied layout with several challenges.
When we arrived, our first impression was, "Wow, that green is right here." But we quickly realized that was a bit of a misnomer, because drought conditions are forecast everywhere here in May 2025. So, after the first few beautiful holes, you quickly reach dry land, and one hole even had to be started from mats. The course presents a variety of challenges that you might not fully grasp until the second time around. Nevertheless, we both managed a birdie, which is always a nice highlight for a mid-handicap player.
It's not quite enough for 5 stars for me, but I would like to play here again on a second vacation.

Interesting place
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed June 4, 2018
Played the course in May 2018. Care condition is very good. Has very interesting and varied holes. Partly you have to be careful because several holes / discounts come together or sometimes cut off over the head of others. Also has many blind holes, which makes the first round on this course a bit more difficult.
Clubhouse rather older, yet solid.
The only drawback: no driving range to import (there are only 2 boxes available).

June 5, 2018Thank you for your feedback. There are some tricky and interesting holes - all part of the fun. Now that you know your way around it will be better/easier next time. All the best. More

Beautiful place with great views

Beautiful, interesting course with some atmberaubendem views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh. The practice facilities are, typically, very limited for the simpler courses in Scotland.
