A tricky course that steals your balls
4.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 5, 2012
This 9-hole course is located along an alpine slope: most fairways are sloped. Not easy to play! The course architect has produced an exciting course on the limited size of land. The fairways are close together.
You must hit your tee shots straight. Otherwise you will quckly loose your balls in the woods or in the high grass.
The course was in excellent condition in 8-2012.
The restaurant closes early in the afternoon so you will have to deposit your dues in an envelope at the little old clubhouse. Quite romantic!
No electric golf cars allowed so you will have to use a chariot or carry your clubs.
A tip: 2 min away is the spectacular Hotel Villa Honegg with its unique views. Stay there. It is pricey but worth it. We had the stay of a lifetime.
We will certainly return to the combination Hotel Villa Honegg & Golf Bürgenstock.

Insider tip in Lucerne

Very well maintained 9-hole course with a fantastic view and an idyllic clubhouse. Club office was absolutely friendly and competent. The Italian chef spoiled us with delicious dishes on the terrace. We'd love to come back!

Guests or not?

Yesterday we played the course again for the first time in 10 years.
Fortunately, the intersecting fairways are no longer there, but you still have to watch out for ricochets. Straight play is required. The lanes were in passable condition, the greens were slow and not faithful.
It's going up and down a lot, but the course is quite short.
The greeting in the secretariat was not characterized by great courtesy, the members probably preferred to keep to themselves. Then you shouldn't allow any guest players, that would be fair.

Idylliesches golfing

We played the pitch yesterday at top weather. The climb to the clubhouse suggested a place to go. Sure, the fairways are somewhat hilly, but without problems. The condition was good on all fairways as well as on the greens. The square itself is somewhat narrow and the lanes run opposite. The holes are rather short, which suggests the rating. The greens are heavily ondulated and somewhat slow. My wife was also thrilled that there were no bunkers! Nobody was also that no start time were necessary and free play could be. They also had room for a small drink after the first 9 holes. The weekly rate for 80 .-- for 18 holes is inexpensive. A compliment to the restaurant and the beautiful view terrace. We can also recommend a short detour to Villa Hohenegg with a sensational view of the lake with a view of the Vierwaldstädtersee.

Too unorganized for such a nested place
3.0 of 5 starsReviewed August 26, 2017
Wonderful little place. The fairways are so tightly interlaced that it must be played very precisely so as not to endanger players on other tracks. The game is also not well-organized, the information is incorrect, no allocation of time, so that everyone plays more or less as he wants and one must inevitably come into the enclosure. It was therefore a stressful, hasty round. We hope that the organization will be improved when the Bürgenstock Resort Hotels are opened.

Exciting

This 9-holes are difficult to play. The fairways are in most cases and if you are not playing, the balls are somewhere. The place itself is but in great condition. This applies to both the fairways, as well as the greens. The situation on Bürkenstock is of course exceptional. During the week you can spontaneously pass there. He then has only a few players on the court. It is an experience for sure!
