Wunderbar

A great golf facility with two championship courses. Great facilities. The Melbourne course is a parkland course which has 4 holes over the River Lea with superb views and even a ferry to take you over the river on 18 but the better course is the Palmeston course which meanders through woodlandand is a great challenge. Thoroughly recommended though a bit pricey. If you can afford it, it is well worth it.

Original 18th hole

Played Melbourne Course.
As soon as you enter the facility, you can see at the golf counter in the parking lot that it is an upscale members' club that doesn't really value green fees (145 pounds).
Even the showers were separate for guests! It was correspondingly difficult to get a tee time.
Undoubtedly a very nice varied golf course, which has a small ferry from the fairway to the green on the 18th hole. (unfortunately we couldn't play anymore because of a heavy thunderstorm that forced the 15th hole to be abandoned.)
( Beautiful tall old ) trees all over the place with constant lightning were quite frightening, since there was not a single lightning protection hut or shelter on the entire place.
Asking the Marshal (?) about this did not seem to interest him!
But this seems to be standard in the UK! (Repeated experience) The greens were fast and good, but the fairways partly (due to drought?) Not good.
Knowing the neighboring resort of The Grove, 5* is not enough.
