Going downhill rapidly

Great course being ruined by Edinburh Leisure. Greens are in shocking state. Tees no better. Course is in danger of becoming a big miss for many people. So expensive to play at the weekend with no facility for inviting guests if you are a season ticket holder.

Beautiful view over Edinburgh

Up and down, impenetrable bushes but beautiful and fun to play. Be sure to have a lot of balls when you tee off. Played July 2016. Good condition, friendly atmosphere.

Best prospects

In the best early summer weather played this beautiful course today. Once again I wanted to send myself alone, on demand, two locals took me to the round, the most relaxed, which I have played so far. The course is well maintained and has faithful and fast greens. For the first round on this course, the tips of the local players gold are worth, especially as the outstanding views of Edinburgh and the surrounding area distracts from the game of golf. The blooming broom gave the golf course a special charm.

Beautiful place above the rooftops of Edinburgh

A scenic spot and yet very close to town. Braid Hills was our first Scottish place on our round trip and it was the best start in our golf vacation. The weather was changing, between the rain showers and the sunshine, and we had fantastic views of Edinburgh, where it was pouring from all the buckets, while we were playing golf in the sunshine on the hills. In June, the broom begins to bloom yellow and the fairways are gorgeously framed. There are some blind holes and at hole 7 we were briefly confused as one sees from the tee only the green of the 14. Then you should take another look at the Birdibook. All in all a very nice place and for the price, one should play this place necessarily times.

Highly recommended

I played the course at a recent trip to Scotland. I actually was a beginner and therefore challenging the course. You should already see that the balls fly straight and not be swallowed by the numerous bushes.
However, it has been great fun to play there. The hilly course, which offers Shots with some blind, was in excellent condition. Rental clubs were also no problem.
And the view over the city you can enjoy the whole round about.

Edinburgh Course with views

We played the course on 21.07.2014. Immediately upon arrival, we are there from the airport. (20 minutes) Who seeks Electrical Card, Driving ranches or a clubhouse there is wrong here. Braid Hills is a wonderful city course is slightly hilly and comes up in perfect condition. For low green fee absolute fun factor with wonderful views in to Edinburgh and the surrounding area.

Necessarily play!

From the description here, I was not expecting so much of the course: Level one Course, which is located in the city...

But after we played the first tracks, we could not stop being amazed. And, although we have played before Gleneagles and St. Andrews New Course.

Fantastic view over Edinburgh out to the Firth of Forth. For this purpose, a very exciting layout, and above all an incredibly low green fees. From now stands Braid Hills No. 1 as a fixed agenda item on every trip to Scotland.

My favorite golf course in Scotland

I call (as a former cross-golfers) golf at its best! By public bus, the bag on the shoulder, within 20 minutes from the city center on one of the most spectacular places I have ever played. A 360-degree panorama of the city, the sea, the hinterland.

And as almost everywhere in Scotland no trace of the elite jet-setter-clubhouse-fuss, I hate here in Switzerland that. Just golfing, what else? Because the first Hole is a blind hole, I asked the nice clerk in Receptions shed after a scorecard. "We do not have one - that's part of the adventure," was his reply. I could hug him for it. As golf should be everywhere.

The course is not neglected because of this loose, sloppy kind. On the contrary, tees, fairways, greens - all maintain excellent. And as I said: the location absolutely unique. Who does not need a clubhouse terrace to present his new driver or their candy-colored Lacoste shirt, for / the Braid Hills, Edinburgh is a must.
