Proper Links

What a great day out.. Played there in the heat of the summer 2018!! The course was dry, hard and very fast which gave you full value for a low running tee shot! I put a 2 iron in the bag just for this visit and it paid off big time. Very gentle start with an easy par 3... not so easy into the wind tho! 2 and 17 run alongside each other are probably the weakest holes.. now we are off and running... The 3rd is a Shortish Par 4.. lay up from the tee and a pinpoint approach is needed as the green is guarded by bunkers at the front... Its now that the course comes alive with fast rolling fairways good strategic bunkering and fast greens.. a real joy! The clubhouse is good and the food and beers very wholesome!! Great course, great fun and very playable for all. I did play in in Temps of 26 degrees with a slight breeze tho!
Top venue at great value too!

9 Holes 9 Holes Out In as befits such an old links course! Darting greens in natural behind the dunes! If you like links golf in classic form comes here fully at its expense! These extremely friendly staff in the pro shop, clubhouse and very nice and interested Members! Good food!

If we ignore the first and last two tracks from which are rather average, you will find here everything you need for links golf. Wavy, hard fairways, blind shots, merciless rough, undulating and fast greens that are often difficult anspeilbar and of course proper shelter. And all this in an originality and consistency as rare. Even the people in the club house are very friendly and you will find, as in most of Wales, and is immediately connected to the call. Who loves links, also loves Ashburnham.
