Fairly cheap and cheerful

Working in Chumphon and a bit of a golfer, I fancied a quick game after being laid up for a few weeks. Having checked out a few of the local clubs, I decided on the Novotel beach golf club. It was about nine am and I was surprised to note that I was the only one there, so I paid my 750 Bht to walk the nine holes. It was pretty obvious why there was no one there. The course is not very well looked after, the fairways had been mown recently, I repeat recently, but the grass clippings had not been collected. The greens were okay, not much of a challenge to a seasoned golfer but ideal for the novice. Lots of water so if you lack confidence, take plenty of balls. The caddy, while pleasant, did nothing except pull the cart, no ball cleaning, nor advice. All in all not great value for money, but what the hell. 250Bht mandatory caddy tip
