...no question, this course, together with Langenstein Castle and St. Leon-Rot, is one of the best that this federal state has to offer in terms of golf.
We have teed up here several times, also on the "old square". This is the second time we have been here since the renovation - which went very well, great work.
The course is in hilly terrain and follows it up and down, with higher but also lower greens.
You have to stretch a lot on three par 4s, they are long and partly narrow - and the greens are rather narrow.
Many fairway bunkers are not necessary to cause difficulties, which are perfectly placed - target golf is required.
The terrain and the length of the holes are very challenging, the greens are not in the shade are tricky, undulating and hanging. They were great to play, even though it was wet.
Playfully, this place is a sporting affair, especially in today's conditions. The soft fairways gave little roll, you had to play the distances. We were forced to use longer material several times.
Very well maintained facility with very nice staff.

We have this place in the top 10 of continental Europe (reference approx. 200). The course is very well maintained, the design is very varied, the course is challenging but still fair. I played Twilight on a Tuesday night in May (green fee 40 €, absolutely fair). The place for the early season already in a very good condition, greens still a bit slow, but very loyal. Reception very, very friendly. Birdie Book was free, as well as some teas. All the players in the square greeted very friendly and gave some hints where the ball was. Altogether very recommendable, also because it is an old championship course!

I played the course in September in dream weather. It was freezing cold!
The welcome is super friendly, personal, not intrusive.
The layout of the course is wide, barely white posts, large greens, hilly - as done for me. Wonderful tees, sometimes from real pulpits into the landscape. The fairways are super maintained, the greens fast.
Changing rooms, showers - at its finest!
I felt very well.
