In good condition despite the drought

Now we have played our first links course. It is very different from the other courses and I would say that it is a real links course. It certainly lacks the "typical" water view we see on TV, but other than that it has many features.

The first lanes go in one direction and luckily we only had moderate wind, which was certainly beneficial to our game. The obstacles then consist more of bunkers and rough than of trees and water. Whereby at the edge of the tracks there is also a tree. The train route next to the first trains is of course annoying, but not a no-go. The fairways were dry and of course brown in some places, but we were always able to play the balls without getting sore wrists.

The greens were fast and we always had to stay in front of the green when playing because the balls could hardly be stopped. Even though most of the tracks went straight, it still didn't get boring. We found that from lane 7, the character of the course changed and some of the "left flair" was lost. However, that didn't make the place less interesting or easier. Losing balls is also rather rare here on the course, since the rough is rather thin.

The greens are fast and undulating, so also quite challenging.

As already written by others, the practice area is not in place. With the exception of the putting green, which was quick but also had brown spots. 2 nets for warming up punches are available. It wasn't really clear which club was responsible, but that doesn't really matter ;-)

After the round there was the opportunity for drinks and there is also a pro shop, we got a logo ball and a birdie book, but it was quite expensive, but what the heck.

Of course it's not Carnoustie, but if the pros train here and the Girls and Boys Amateur Open are played here, then it should be enough for us amateur golfers too.

We would play here again anytime.

No real links course

The Medal Platz initially leads along a railway line with 4 almost identical railways. Sea is not visible. Price performance is right. But not more.

Great place, why play in more famous places?

The Navi led us to the range, which lies outside the village and not in the two places. The reception was very friendly; Especially that it has 3 club houses from 3 different clubs, beautifully arranged side by side; Each 1 club is available during a week for guest players of the host club. We played the Medal-Course in June 2017; A links course at its finest. Should I decide which place I would play again, Carnoustie or Monifieth Medal; I would play Monifieth again.
