9 holes no frills

I visited jebel sifa golf after reading about it's opening in a golf magazine. The course has only 9 holes at present with the rest of the course, club house and driving range planned at an unspecified time in the future. So no warm ups just straight in to the golf on 9 well crafted, great condition holes set next to the sea with a back drop of some dramatic mountains. The resort is mostly complete with a nice Hotel, rental villas, condos, restaurants and boutique shops. There are other activities and water sports on offer. It is a long way from Muscat airport and the taxi fare is extortionate. They really should have a hotel bus? Walk away from the airport taxis and catch an orange and white one you can barter the fare down 50%. Would like to return when they complete it and during the cooler weather Oct- Mar. I will check back in 6 months for a progress report.

Just wonderful

The golf course in Jebel Sifah only has 9 holes, but some of them are quite challenging. The golf course architect has not only staged the landscape in the best possible way, but also placed every obstacle in a targeted manner. The facility is extremely well maintained and is open 6 days a week. It has very few people so you can focus on your own game and not have to wait. Simply good!

Exceptionally

The place unfortunately has an arrival of over an hour from nutmeg. The Proshop is manageable, but the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The nine holes have on one side the blue sea and on the other wild rugged mountains. The place waives any frills, but has extremely well-kept fairways and tees. The greens are extremely fast. Due to the sometimes strong wind from the sea, the course is also a challenge for good players.
