Characteristics
Since 1978 the Golf Course "Auf der Lausward" has been known as Germany's first public golf course. Since the 1rst January 1997 the GSV Düsseldorf has managed the course on its own initiative. Here, "Auf der Lausward" a totally mixed public meets to play golf together. The social intercourse is uncomplicated and friendly. Almost directly in the centre of the city, on the Rheinwiesen, in front of the port, the view from the 8th hole on Düsseldorf's skyline is an optic highlight.

"Just play golf" is the motto of the club and that is lived the same way. No dress code, very nice handling on and off the court, uncomplicated flight partners. To the 9-hole course is a great sporting challenge. The relatively small and elevated greens make the short game tremendously. Situated on the Rhine, it is rarely calm, which does not make the club selection. The par-3 holes (of yellow: 99 meters, 150 meters and 190 meters) are varied, the par-4 holes through the bank relatively long and on one of the two par-5 holes can a skilled golfer a realistic chance to earn Eagle.
