Characteristics
The highest elevated tee-box in Germany 3,300 ft above sea level is situated in this scenic landscape in front of the Alps. The holes each have a different design. Framed by a population of old trees, they were harmonically integrated into the landscape. Panoramic views from the "Allgäuer" to the "Chiemgauer" Alps show about 100km of the mountains in the south of Bavaria.

Beautiful foothills course

The course is integrated into the foothills of the Alps and therefore requires good physical condition and the ability to deal with slopes.
Sometimes you have to play the fairways extremely right or left in order to then have a good starting position on the green.
The greens were decent but not very fast.
You will be rewarded with great views of the Alps and exciting holes.
The restaurant is self-service, although the cakes were delicious.
But don't expect a large selection of dishes.

The place has been one of my absolute favorite places for years. For me, its embedding in the meadows and pastures of the surrounding farms and in the smaller forest areas was uniquely successful.
In line with the surrounding landscape, the course is very hilly. If you are in good physical condition, you can also walk it with the (e-)trolley, but I prefer a cart because I can concentrate my strength on my game. I also like to play all three 9-hole courses because each course has its own special features.
Naturally there are many slopes and blind holes where poles are used for orientation, plus a few gorges to play over, but that doesn't make the course unfair or even unplayable. Of course, from time to time a ball is lost - but the reason for this is usually an unclean shot and not the layout of the hole. It's a bit of a challenge and takes some experience, but you can play with the terrain very well here and find your balls in positions where it's no problem to continue playing.
I have always found the course in good, yes, often very good condition and have met many nice, accommodating and helpful people, from the club secretariat to management to the greenkeepers, who interrupt their work and step aside so that you can can continue playing undisturbed.
Conclusion: Whenever I'm in the Oberallgäu, a game on this wonderful course is a must for me.

We played the course in August 2021 without a green fee, as sls included part of the Allgäucard in our hotel booking. We made a reservation by phone and received an extremely friendly welcome. A tournament was running, but the Marshall took the time to tell us something about our 2 lanes at the tee.
The condition was very good, great greens. The highest tee in Germany at over 1000m is spectacular. Challenging lanes, some of them very narrow and with an extreme incline. Trolley also helps, as there are large differences in height. Often blind strokes, but these are made easier by orientation poles. Excellent!
