I played the course on April 14,2024. All fairways were lush green. The greens were in very good condition for the time of year. And I found all the balls next to the fairways too. Respect for the club, which has apparently taken over the course from the operator since August 2022. The office also makes a very good impression. Everything was explained and shown to me. The young man was very friendly. The restaurant also gets top marks.
Small menu with dishes for every taste.
The view of Waldeck Castle and the old town of Waldeck is magnificent.

The tees were totally burned and hard, the fairways were still in oke condition for the brutal heat, but also far from good. The greens were bad for example. total gamble. The greens were partly very brown and burned, plus there was a slight fungal attack. The only green (hole 11) that would have been good was littered with duck droppings. I actually liked the layout of the course, although there aren't many punishing obstacles (water comes into play once, out there was a little more). The place was varied and exciting. If the place gets a little more attention and care that it needs, that's a good place without a doubt. But at the moment it's not enough for more.

Very nice reception at the counter. I was registered as a single player. After 3 lanes, however, another single player from the club joined them, with whom I then continued to play. That was also very helpful when playing the course for the first time. The course itself was very well maintained, fairways short, cuts and well mowed around the greens. The fairways drop significantly to the left/right on some lanes and also let a well-hit ball come to rest on the other side. Recently there were probably a few changes to the tracks, a PAR4 was shortened to a PAR3 (12). For this, a PAR4 is extended to a PAR5 (18). With 450m and a downhill drive it's rather short. With the 2nd you are already on the green. The signature hole is clearly the 11. After a good drive, it's still a short iron on the (semi-)island green, since you're clearly playing downhill. The Güns were in good shape, moderately fast and on track.
After the game, the terrace offers a nice opportunity to linger for a moment. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food offer, because of a league game ahead of us (with catering for the participants), the offer for everyone else was limited to drinks.
Conclusion: a beautiful golf course with a view of Waldeck Castle and the surrounding area. But for 5 stars it would have to be more varied. The weekend green fee was absolutely reasonable.
I'll be happy to play in Waldeck again if I get the chance.
