Just Gorgeous!

Awesome golf course, one of my favourites by far. Fairways are wide and feel like walking on a really soft carpet. The whole place is exceptionally well maintained. Love playing this course especially nowadays because of the increased tree height and the redesign of the 18th lake and green. Gets better every year :)

Awesome Place!

Very cool golf course. A few tough holes along the water, but if you stay on the fairway, you ll be doing just fine. Fairways feel like soft carpet floor and greens were spot on, fast and varied. Every hole is different and some of them require to play tactical, even choosing irons of the tee. Absolutely loved it will come back for more. Trees have grown much taller since the last time I had played the course, and certainly made missed fairways more of a trouble than back then.
Thank you!

Relaxed golf in a beautiful landscape - without a kick.

Have played the course twice. The environment is gorgeous, the place well maintained! The fairways are all "highways". I have probably never pulled out my 3 wood so often on any other course (and that's not my favorite club!) The course is at over 1,000 m and you get "mountain goat places" elsewhere. Here, however, everything is absolutely flat! And the balls fly further at this height, so be careful when choosing a club. Otherwise you can easily play a good score.

The downside of the coin: the layout is super boring. Par 4 on the first nine holes, seven. Always straight ahead. The back nine are then a little more varied. You cross the narrow Mur twice, at least once (!) with a dogleg, wow. There are two larger ponds, but unfortunately they are not included. Only the shot into the 18th green has to be played over water. (Finally!!!).
The golf course designer would have had every opportunity to create a beautiful AND challenging course on this lush site (there is also a 9-hole short course) with natural water. Missed opportunity, what a pity!

I have to mention the big greens: well maintained like everything else, but slow and dull. (The design, which is boring here too, suits the place).

Since the friendly operators can not do anything for the space design, I award the 5 stars.

Thanks for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your round with us and the area.

We regret that you don't like the architecture of the course, but allow us to say that this has never actually been criticized to this day and we have really never heard the rating "super boring". In general, the response from our guests (and members) is the opposite, after all (depending on the skill level) there are seven holes to overcome frontal water hazards from the tee. Depending on your own "course management" or handicap, you can also choose more defensive strategies on some holes. We also have a total of 6 doglegs (three each on the first and three on the second nine holes).
The only "natural" water on the course is the Mur (which, however, was regulated in the 1980s). We are pleased to hear that the larger and smaller ponds that were specially created appear to be natural bodies of water, since our facility is considered a very natural place.
It would be our pleasure to welcome you again soon!
In the meantime, we wish you a nice golf season!
Best regards
Your GC Lungau/Katschberg team

Unfortunately descending

In contrast to the previous year, the fairways have many bald spots that affect the game and are also quite unsightly. After the heavy rains last night, the course was "pretty wet", especially hole 7 was heavily under water.
Course otherwise nice from the layout, greens as usual in a very good condition, fast and directional, bunker to play well.
An otherwise very nice place.

Thank you for your rating. I would like to briefly note that golf is an outdoor sport and therefore it also depends on the season and the weather. This year we had ice damage (1,050m above sea level), but have now received consistently positive feedback on the condition of our place.
We are pleased that you enjoyed it again, except for the fairways, and we send you greetings from Salzburg's Lungau!

Great Place

We were really surprised to be able to play this not so well known place in such a beautiful condition.
Great, extremely large and fast greens, grandiose bunkers with extremely soft sand, very well-maintained fairways - just a very nice place.
The individual fairways were exciting at all times, individual trees in the middle of the fairway call for a strategic game.

Most of all I liked fairways 9, with a very large elongated green for many exciting possibilities of flag position.

Very nice golf day!

We spontaneously decided to drive to Lungau for a nice round of golf. We were not disappointed. Herbstgreenfee Action EUR 40,00 really great. The place is in great condition. Great, big greens. Sometimes water comes into play. Wide fairways where some huts or barns are. Really interesting to play. On the back 9 you can hear the road in places.
Top condition, although it is already the end of October.

Always worth a trip

We were playing here twice this summer. The course is not easy but also for beginners a pleasure... a few more balls should one have but with it! The whole area is very well maintained and the paths between the discounts not too long.
We were there on the weekend and had no trouble getting a start time.
Very praise is the gastronomy.. also very civilian prices.
We will definitely be back

Cold Spring

9 hole short course
A good training ground or good in between for a quick round. The course with nine holes located between the river Mur and partly leads parallel to the busy main road B96 along. A nice pitch and putt golf course with a short par 4 and a par 3 over 175 meters. The place is very open and most greens are defended by two bunkers. (28 April 2014)

18-hole course.
The course is flat but varied. The holes 1,4, 7,11,12 have a dogleg or a double dogleg. The Back 9 have the exciting holes and some challenges (eg a barn on the fairway). The fairways are mostly wide. The course is situated on the edge of a marsh area and the fairways felt just as if you were barefoot ran on moss.
The clubhouse has a beautiful terrace with a view of the Lungau mountains. A small pro shop with necessary offer available.
The place had the end of April for some winter damage. It was open for a long winter recently for playing. The greens were due to the Vertikutierung and sanding bad playable. (27 April 2014)

Playing golf in beautiful surroundings

Flat, varied and very well maintained. Part way very long holes, and water comes into play. Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome.
