Super day, wonderful course

Played 18 holes at Heidelberg-Lobenfeld last week, visiting Heidelberg.
Wonderful course, very good condition, greens challenging, each hole offers something different but fit together as 18 holes perfectly.
The course is demanding but I liked it. Spectacular views from around the course. The rough had been cut but could be a bit heavy in summer.
First cut from fairway could also be a bit shorter - A 22 handicapper needs a bit of help sometimes!!
Overall - loved it! Friendly people, friendly staff and I didn't want to leave the terrace with the view across the course. As they say in German "herrlich"

Auf Deutsch - wonderschöne Platz, freundliche Leute, super Tag!
Danke Heidelberg Lobenfeld

Best place, good training infrastructure

The course fits in very well with the landscape, is very fair and varied - depending on the tea and strategy selection. Knowledge of the space is an advantage, but not required. There are many streams, lakes and trees - most of them in landscape protection or water protection areas, the terrain is well chosen. Nature and relaxing.

The club is not very large, but has extensive training facilities directly at the clubhouse and at the Biddersbacher Hof in the middle of the course. The well-maintained facility is complemented by shelters and toilets on the site. In addition, both the greens of holes nine and eighteen are located at the clubhouse. Members and guests are excellently looked after and cared for by the friendly staff, the spacious changing rooms, washing area and caddy house as well as the large number of carts.

There are parking spaces for mobile homes at Biddersbacher Hof.

The club's particular advantage is that there are no start times - which works smoothly.

Compared to other courses in the region, the course is well maintained, even if the challenging greens are only really fast in championship or larger tournament games - which is rather positive for the score for most players. From spring to autumn, the course is very playable even in dry years and is a highlight, even from the club terrace (after or before the round). After days of very heavy rain, the course can be very damp on some holes in winter, but the measures introduced this year are already having an improving effect on the fairways.

Sophisticated and beautiful

We played the course at the end of August. There was no need to reserve a start time. I know a few places in the region. I like Lobenfeld best. The topography and the tranquility speak for themselves. The place is difficult but not unfair. The condition of the course was good. Despite the dryness, no brown spots. The training options are also very good, including a 6-hole short course. The secretariat was accommodating and the space on the restaurant terrace was inviting for dinner. Recommended.

Water place

Virtually unplayable after rain and in autumn/winter. 90% of the balls are stuck in the mud after the drive, you wade through a swampy landscape on some lanes. The club can't do anything about the bad weather in recent weeks, the course layout in a depression is just bad for a golf course. Interesting, by the way: Last year, in the hot summer, we played the course before, it was rock hard and the balls jumped completely uncontrolled. So this place is a total roulette game. Too bad because the location and surroundings would be attractive. Driving range narrow and unattractive due to the slope/sink architecture.

In the meantime, a lot has been done to give the native fauna its place again. Just beautiful here.

Good place, worth playing

Nice place, but there is a lot of up and down. Cart is recommended at least but electric trolley. After the round you can enjoy the terrace with a beautiful view and good food. We played the course on 05/26/22 (HCP 9) and had fun

Great place, great layout, sporty!

On the Campertour 2022, after a number of years of wishful thinking, there was finally a round on this GC, the telephone contact was very nice and informative (especially with regard to the pitch) so the journey was completely uncomplicated. The parking space for the WoMo is a good Par4 downhill from the clubhouse, next to the greenkeeping, you drive past the clubhouse through the golf course (between lanes 10 and 18) and there you will find a flat gravel area for 2 WoMos. There is probably also a power connection (not required). Due to the distance to the clubhouse, we had an extremely quiet afternoon and a good night. The greenkeepers started around 6am but they must have passed us quietly and we didn't notice them until later. By the way, there is also a chipping green next to the parking space, so you could still practice diligently in the evening...
The clubhouse terrace was still pretty empty on the day of arrival in the afternoon, the sun was beating down from the sky, but umbrellas were not put up on request because there was supposed to be a thunderstorm in the evening. We found it strange at least and sounded like an excuse... So we just had a drink (much too hot in the sun) and in the evening we also had something to eat (however, the service was overwhelmed with the parallel award ceremony of a women's tournament with 60 participants), the food came But in the end it was good, even if no bread, salt, pepper or balsamic vinegar was served with the tomato mozzarella (but it was served the next day).

The next day the two of us played a round on a really extraordinarily beautiful golf course, which is quite hilly and in some cases offers grandiose tee-offs. Great layout, a great, quite long course that we absolutely enjoyed despite the heat! Certainly one of the nicest places we've played on the trips so far (e.g. the 1st GC West Palatinate is in no way inferior) - and the wait was worth it, we'll definitely be back.

Nice conversations with the ProShop operator and the reception rounded off the golfing experience, that the gastro the day before was only partially on point, so it should only be mentioned here in passing and does not spoil the impression. After the round we enjoyed the good showers before we left and are already looking forward to the next time!

Home in Lobenfeld is still the most beautiful!

Every time I've played a different course, I come to the conclusion: "It's best to be at home in Lobenfeld".

In Lobenfeld, the distances from the range to the square are short, and all other facilities are only a stone's throw away from each other. You can orientate yourself well and don't have to walk a kilometer to get from A to B.

Our course is in excellent condition, the fairways are green and there are no dry, dusty spots. The greenkeepers do a great job both on the course and on the practice facilities.
The layout of the course is logical, you don't zigzag to get to the next tee.

The ladies in the secretariat are friendly and helpful, you always feel welcome when you are at the counter.

Many thanks to everyone involved, thanks to your efforts in Lobenfeld, it's simply great!

Top!

At 35 degrees, a cart was a very, very worthwhile investment (if you are not fit you should always take a cart, long distances and sometimes long climbs), we have not seen a club member without an e-trolley!
The course itself is a classic woodland course that is playfully challenging and has a great design!
Almost every track lies alone in the wonderful landscape and can convince with a top maintenance condition!
Clearly a 4-star plus place, which is also available at Albrecht at a 2: 1 discount, great!

Overdressed

By far the most beautiful place in the vicinity of Heidelberg - where otherwise telegraph poles or motorway noise diminish the overall impression, pure nature is the order of the day here -
meanwhile unfortunately too much for nature - A steadily growing colony of Egyptian geese has discovered this paradise for itself and its legacy and thus offers a challenge that many golfers (involuntarily) take home.

Beautiful golf course

Today I managed to play the Lobenfeld golf course once.
From the terrace you have a wonderful view of the golf course in the valley. The tracks are fair and varied. The highlight, however, are the very well-tended and undulating greens. Not too often found in Germany. There is also a 6-hole short course, the green fee of 15 euros may seem a bit high, but that also includes the 10 euros for the range. So you actually play the course for only 5 euros. The reception was now 2 x extremely friendly... Thank you!

Maximum 2 stars

One can be amazed how some reviews come about here. Lured by full-bodied promises, we made a stop here in transit. The registration was rather restrained, a secretary is playing on the cell phone while a young girl only gives out minimal information. It would have been nice to know that there is a nice additional exercise facility down in the valley. The criticism of the 6-hole course is justified, selling this area to a real golfer as a "course" is actually window dressing. O. k, a playground for children and absolute beginners. The 18 is unfortunately muddy in autumn and you lose countless balls in the sodden ground. The sometimes unfriendly club members don't create a welcoming atmosphere. Sullen and fast-playing golfers are sometimes not allowed through by older sports fans as a precaution. The course has some beautiful tracks but unfortunately also unimaginable lengths. Overall ok, no revelation and for 70E green fee certainly no place that makes you want a second round.

The most beautiful place in the Rhein Neckar district

The facility is kept in top condition by the greenkeepers. The fairways are well maintained and green all year round.
The course is challenging due to its location in a valley basin and offers many interesting tracks, you have to approach the respective track carefully.
The staff at the reception is very friendly, courteous and helpful.
You sit on the terrace with a wonderful view of the whole place and enjoy a sundowner after the round.
Many thanks to all those responsible. It's always nice to be with you!

Mudslinging

Danger. After rain, the place built in a hollow turns into a swamp desert. A few nice holes, the rest of the unimaginable long Par4 and Par5 without level. Price-performance is not shown. Secretariat not interested. The "short course" is a joke, the tee and green are sometimes a few meters apart. Range totally narrow and no tee options. Once and never again.

Beautiful

The place is fully recommended in all respects. Very well maintained fairways and tees. The greens are in a class of their own - both in terms of design and care. Everything great.

Advisable

Secretariat and members are very friendly, the place was in good condition, despite the dry summer, everything very well playable. The terrain is already sporty. The tracks are varied and repeatedly tees from above. The operation was brisk even in the week and for high Hcp. the place is less suitable.

We liked it a lot, we will be back.

Unusual

The place is quiet, well maintained and sophisticated.
It can not be that the acceptance of all credit cards and TravelCash cards in the Secretariat, Restaurant and ProShop is denied. I've never experienced that as a foreign player all over the world. Such a club must be shaky or simply greedy. Pity!!!

An exceptional course - Incredibly beautiful!

We played this golf course as guests at the beginning of August 2017 and were completely surprised by the beauty and variety of this place. Although it looks very hilly, it is not hard to run, although each hole has its own character, the course is fair and you only rarely really blindly play and although there are no fixed tee times, you do not have to wait long, Super plant, with in detail cultivated planting and for German conditions mostly very good greens. Fairways are really great. Great maintained. One has at any time the feeling that one is in the middle of nature and often extremely beautiful prospects. The view from the club house to the cyclist after the round is also unique. A very special place!

Kiss Sleeping Beauty from her sleep!

This place has benefited enormously from the recently completed renovation! It is longer, more difficult and even more beautiful. At least now there is a spectacular, extremely scenic and playfully varied course with a picturesque, located club house, which allows a view of almost all trajectories. And gastronomy seems to have continued to improve. Nevertheless, "lost" yet still so few guest players after praising field that tee times usually do not need to be forgiven.

Recommendation to all readers in the South West of the Republic: You drop by to finally kiss Heidelberg Praise field from its hibernation!

Meets all expectations!

Owned half after completion of the "redesigned" course in Heidelberg Praise field were already aroused great expectations in the last year, however, a final judgment was premature. Now it's done and the second "Nine" offer my opinion still an increase of what was to be expected. It has emerged a true championship course, which may occur in this respect far beyond the region in each comparison.
Perfectly placed bunkers, large undulating greens and sometimes difficult even at this early stage fouling very well maintained fairways are involved in an outstanding manner in the beautiful scenic surroundings.
Great compliment!
Only the really heavy, deep roughs are a bit too dominant on some fairways. But yes we spoke of a championship course!
The other facilities have maintained their high standards.
Conclusion: Must play when the opportunity arises.

First half perfect!

A really great result of the course redesigns on the first nine holes. It can easily imagine what a great golf course will present itself in a year here. The always beautiful scenic place wins just a highly demanding athletic dimension that will enable it to completion in the very first series of South German golf courses. Currently still show small defects in the fairways and greens, but the fouling phase alone are owed.
The clubhouse offers in almost every respect perfect conditions in a friendly and courteous service. Only the restaurant is in my opinion a bit too little to the culinary desires for or based on a round of golf. It lacks the "small, southern snack food." The Orientiertung of Thai forms of preparation seems rather superfluous to me.
Overall, however, this club provides an excellent impression at fair green fee.
I want to give only after final completion of the redesign, but so far everything is going in this direction, the fifth star.

There arises a great thing!

Heidelberg Praise field has always been a beautifully situated, attractive place, but much of the 40 years needed a refresher. The first nine holes are now converted - the results speak for themselves! Of particular note: many new bunker, the large new water hazard on the spectacular 3 And the fifth hole Track, a real monster hole. Overall, the price is considerably more demanding, the slope increased by a whopping 10 points! Real progress are the new modulierlierten greens. Of course fairways and greens still need to grow, but it is clear: the redesign is very well done!
The review is of course only preliminary, especially since the second 9 holes are currently still under construction.
Already, it can be stated: One of the most beautiful and interesting places in the southwest, not crowded, fair green fee, wonderfully located club house overlooking the entire facility, friendly service, and (now) ordinary kitchen.
A final assessment is possible only after the completion of the renovation. The 4 star still have room for improvement!
