Golf with soul.

Konopiste golf is one of the most famous and used to be one of the best courses in Czech. Golf course is recently strugeling due the few competition in neigborhood. I like course very much, Radecky to me was always more challenging and more competitive. Este is it boring. I can see a bit drop down quality of maintanence. They do have great facilities there, like the spa and accomodation in new houses. Castle need reconstruction. The weak point is restaurant, no doubt they made best Svickova there, but thats it. Inside of restaurant is same for last 20 years.
Back to course be prepared for soft greens, narrow fairways on front nine of Radecky. Overall I always enjoy to come back and value for money is also average, not crazy expensive.

Very well maintained facility for ambitious golfers

Radecky is more for technically ambitious players, d'Este rather for longhiter. Both places are however very interesting laid out and beautifully embedded in the hilly landscape. Radecky leads through a very old tree stand and a picturesque valley with a brook. Both places load on the second half to be hearty driver use. Except on the weekends (Thu, Fri, Sat) it is very quiet and you can enjoy the game without big crowds, besides, both places between tea 9 and 10 pass the restaurant, where you can very easily and well. You can stay a few days without boring, especially since the golf course also a hotel with excellent SPA and a very good restaurant.

Every time again

The d'Este Course is located entirely outside of the castle park during Radecky course has to have a couple of fairways in the park. This and and a good 100 meters long lap (from the yellow tees), the latter is probably a bit more challenging. The fairways are outside the park are surrounded with mostly wide and not too thick rough - enough space for one or the other courageous Drive. For both places: The greens were huge despite the heat warped the last days in prime condition, not too hard but still pretty fast, with "playable" breaks and flag positions. The same goes for fairways and tees: Perfectly maintained and kept in excess. Despite weekend the resort was not very crowded - no traffic - no tailgaters from behind - simply cozy. Both courses are conditionally not really demanding and can be easily managed on foot.
The clubhouse, the tiny shop and reception are housed in an old but beautifully renovated manor house in the shady park. All the staff speak very good English and are very friendly, polite and helpful. We have stayed there and were allowed to use our room at no extra charge until late afternoon of the departure day to shower after lap.
