All is relatve

If you compare this course with a fairly good rating to the Bonavista Golf course with the same rating, then you cant understand, why people give it a 4 or even 5.
I am a single handicap player and found this course quite boring.
The greens are quite good but all putrs are straight and boring...
Driving range is good, clubfacilities as well.

Great course, bad attitude.

Have to say its my favourite course in Tenerife. Excellent layout and very fair (no silly holes). Always in good condition and you would struggle to realise you are in the middle of a very busy resort, it's so quiet.
We had a group of 20 with a variety of handicaps and they all complimented it.
However, the staff are not very welcoming or accommodating. I know the course is very popular and perhaps they feel they will get customers regardless of their attitude.. which is probably true. However, when you spend 1000s of euro's bringing a big party, you would expect a better service.

Disappointing

We have been coming to Tenerife for many years and always play a few rounds on this golf course. This year we were shocked by the poor condition of the place. The tees in particular were miserable - there was little grass, but there was a lot of sand and what little grass was quite high, and also totally wavy and bumpy. In addition, the red and yellow tees were incredibly far ahead of the actual official measurement (many yellow tees were at the official red markings.) There were a lot of dry spots on the fairways, but at the same time there were also a lot of muddy ones without grass. The entire course has been in much better condition in recent years; A new Green Keeper has been working for two years now...

Vacation spot

Las Americas is well maintained and runs its 18 fairways in a lovely, fairly level (no problem on foot) parkland design through the ancient palm trees to the club terrace! Pro shop and restaurant are top, a classic Iberian holiday spot, 4 stars that guarantee fun, recommended at any time!

OK

Clubhouse and reception in a dignified (upper class) atmosphere. The course was in reasonable shape: the greens appeared to be partly worn down, but were still playable. Deep traces of golf carts or greenkeeper vehicles were found on several fairways. This disrupted the otherwise good overall impression. Difficulty level was okay. Not very difficult holes, apart from the fact that there are a few valleys or hanging fairways to master. You don't necessarily have to have played it. Golf del Sur or Buena Viesta del Norte offer a much better gaming experience for similar money.

There is no blue

Las Americas is itself a very beautiful and well-maintained place. Exciting and sometimes very challenging. Unfortunately, with the package deal from the associated hotel, it's almost impossible to book for external players and it's totally overcrowded. By the way, the handicap requirements probably don't apply to these guests either. At least it was recognized that the 8-minute start times before Corona were not helpful (or only for the club's finances) and sometimes led to 5.5 hour rounds. If the management were to move the yellow tees back to the designated tee boxes, it would even be possible for ladies with a low handicap to play from blue again. So assuming there were any blue markings at all.

Absolutely solid

I played the course twice as part of a golf trip in September 2023. The holes are beautifully laid out and the course is very varied and fun. Some holes were a bit overwatered in parts, but this was probably due to the very warm season. The combination with the accommodation in the Hotel Las Madrigueras and the private golf buggy included with it rounded the whole thing off.

The pro shop is excellently equipped and the restaurant is highly recommended. All the employees were extremely nice and helpful. The price/performance ratio is excellent.

Only the tees on the driving range could have been designed more lovingly. These stand out somewhat negatively in the positive overall picture.

Overall, an absolutely solid place with a well-deserved 4 stars that can be recommended. Gladly again. In our case as early as February 2024.

Actually great - with one major flaw

Surprisingly, you can park your car for free in a large garage directly opposite the clubhouse entrance. The way to the secretariat is correspondingly short.

In addition to the relatively short driving range (only mat tees), there are also reasonable practice greens for short games and putting.

The golf course is interesting and varied and is really fun. The condition is actually good to very good, but there was at least one major shortcoming in our round: the greens had an incredible number of tw. deep footprints, although the surface actually looked excellent in the undamaged areas. Apparently, a lot of water was thrown onto the greens here (early in the morning?) in a very short time, so that the first players in the morning caused damage to the greens, which were then much too soft, without doing anything wrong. I have never seen anything like this in this form anywhere and this indicates a massive mismanagement in the care (hence only 4 stars). It wasn't as pronounced on the practice greens.

We could not understand the "narrowness" described in a review on the square due to the development. Here you have to twist the ball extremely to get into trouble. A busy road is only quite close to a green, so that the traffic noise is a bit disturbing here.

The food on the beautiful terrace with a great view of tees 1 and 10 and the 18th green was good. The portions could have been a bit bigger. We were treated very friendly in the restaurant and on the whole area by the staff and would love to come back.

No longer the best care condition

We played yesterday on February 20,2023.
Green fee €115, generally similar prices as elsewhere on the island for 18 holes. At reception you are greeted like a number, very impersonal. The secretariat could also smile, it doesn't cost anything.
The Marshall also unfriendly, masses are smuggled through here.
To the place: the greens are trampled unequal could be better. The fairways and tees have seen better days.
Overall, it remains to be seen. There are better places here on the island.

Not that great anymore

Yellow's 5,866 m long par 72 course is relatively shorter because the fairways are quite hard and the ball roll is supported accordingly.
Tee boxes and fairways with visual defects, therefore only 4 stars compared to previous years. Greens are quick but relatively soft, unfortunately many foreplayers have forgotten to touch up their pitch marks.
Place optically very well laid out, water always comes into play, fairways varied!

In the top 100

We played here several times in 2006, the Tenerife ranking clearly: Golf Del Sur No 1, Las Americas after Abama No 3 - this time it is not for us.

This course was planned by the Englishman John Jacobs (1925-2017) - a legend - who inherited golf from his father, as a golf pro - player and teacher - as Ryder Cup captain, as director of PGA Europe. One of his golf instruction books from the early 1970s is legendary. Many of his are standard works today.

The course is completely built up, the Autopista del Sur in the north, connecting roads in the west and the stadium in the south as well as large residential complexes around the entire course. In the middle - in the course - a large cohesive development. Every now and then the noise emissions are considerable.

The view of the Atlantic is possible several times, the terrain slopes down towards it.

The course is easy to play, no large crossovers and the Hoyos are not that long. Only three measure more than 400 meters, and the opening hole - par 5 - tempts you to play birdie. There are exciting doglegs, short par 4s that leave several options open, three greens can be attacked with the driver in good conditions.

Good greens, sometimes difficult to read if the lighting is not good. You are playing very well and were a little slow today.

Care and maintenance is very good - there are a few problem areas.

It is a hotspot on Tenerife so the play-pace is not optimal as you would like it to be - more on this topic in the Abama rating. It's okay today, the players aren't too numerous.

Everyone thought that five stars was too good a grade.

We agree on the new ranking of the Tenerife courses: No 1 Abama, No 2 Las Aericas, No 3 Buena Vista.

Now it's time to go home, we forego the planned stay in Gran Canaria - due to Covid. We have canceled everything, we want to avoid the current situation with a possible quarantine.

Second best place in Tenerife

We, sport golfers for 30 years, have no idea which course "Peter CH" played, but certainly not Las Americas with this description! If it is too short for you, you can play it from back-tee. Overall, a very nice and very well-kept place. Lots of interesting holes and absolutely top greens. Abama, my No. 1, is simply more spectacular, but is very challenging, which could sometimes spoil your mood. The fun factor in Las Americas is probably the greatest for most golfers here. The green fee is more than justified for this top facility. Golf quality costs something!

Boring Place

We played this course in early December 2020 and found boring lanes without any challenge. The condition of the fairways was fine - they are wide and therefore tactical and precise play is not a necessity. The greens were in acceptable condition. In addition, there are no beautiful views in this square and it is quite noisy as the highway is close by. No lasting golf experience!

Fairly meager golf food at a very affordable price

The first three lanes begin flat, bland, boring. only then can you go into the hills for 6 holes and golf becomes a little more challenging and varied. But that's over from the 10th hole. flat, very wide, without any requirements.
If you only play your balls halfway straight ahead on this course, you will reach the green without obstacles and stress. Losing the ball, almost impossible. obstacles largely non-existent. golf tactics are not required. the greens are not very undulating but as a whole they are slightly sloping into the landscape. fairways were OK, greens too, if a bit bumpy. sand quality: well. place labeling almost non-existent. you can and may walk the course and on the 19th hole there was something acceptable to eat.

we paid € 107 pp (without cart) in november (low season) and on weekdays. this place is never worth that.

if you compare what buenavista or adeje have to offer the discerning golfer, and at a lower green fee, then i am amazed that anyone is still playing las americas. Or to put it another way: an ideal place for beginners... if it weren't for the far too expensive green fee.

Very nice place in connection with the Hotel Las Madrigueras

We, Hcp 14 + 7,5, were at the end of September at the Hotel Las Madrigueras with the house square Las Americas. Each room has a cart. Wonderful!
We played the really nice course in the heart of Las Americas 3 times. The care, the design, the clubhouse, the friendliness in the secretariat and the food in the clubhouse are really good!! The tracks are not too long, so that all handicap classes can play good results. We have already booked the next vacation :-)

Very nice place

Place was in good condition. Plays itself very nicely, there are no "unfair" holes, is also playable for players with higher HCP and for good players tw. challenging because you can quickly find the ball at or under a palm tree. Staff very friendly, the starters are particularly eager to get the Spielfluß. Despite the start time, we were always able to start earlier, just like the starters handle this TOP. Always try to replenish the flights or let start from the 10 greens are fast and keep the track, fairways are in good condition.

Better than expected

Played twice in September, GF with buggy and lunch 80 €, because you can not complain. Professional reception, Proshop well sorted, great driving range.
We had expected nothing special in the midst of the concrete construction of Las Americas and marveled at the green oasis all the more!
The place is mainly flat, offers a few water hazards and was in great condition, especially the greens were fast, consistent and snappy. The course is demanding but never unfair.
We played the course in the afternoon, but it was quite busy in the morning, especially with players from the UK.
Conclusion: at any time again

It stank tremendously!

The place played late Oct. 17. At hole 1,10,11,12,13,14,17 and 18 it stank terribly of sewage. It was almost unbearable. Unclear whether it came from the brown water of the ponds or if there was a sewerage problem somewhere. Fairways were partially littered with split-mica stones, our iron and wood have suffered.
Price / performance compared to other places in Tenerife (Buenavista, Adeje, Del Sur has caught up) there are much better. Also, because a 8 minute interval at the start of the latest after 2-3 hours already on Tee1 20-30 minutes backlog caused. Since it's probably only about the money! Too bad for the really nice place.

Fairways and greens are in perfect condition.
That there are nicer places and heavier, so what?
That one and has to do something about the weeds, should be apparent. Imagine times the reviews when the place for a day because of "maintenance" is disabled?
Emergence and delays: If many "top players" prefer whip off the tee the odometer, a rain dance stop until they get to tee off, then it may take, but that has nothing to do with the place.

Place for good to score - too expensive

One of the easiest-to-play courses in Tenerife. Fairways and greens, despite the high volume players well maintained. Good parking in an underground garage. Secretariat competent, although the lady seemed a bit reserved. As almost always in Tenerife should 5h. Or schedule more, it is obvious why bring as many players on the court. Some reductions mainly par 3 long waits. The pricing is already fierce: 95.- € Greenfee + 39.- € for a cart that is not here the place. Here the iron is forged, while it's hot.

Expensive, crowded and not demanding

The golf course is very beautiful but also easy. Balls you can not really lose, also because the space is very wide or there is no exclusion to the neighboring tracks. It is hard to come by here as a group shortly start time. Alternatively, you can get tee times nor hotel quotas in certain hotels well. The green fee is not a bargain at 99 €. Allegedly star as a guest at the Hotel Las Madrigueras five, adjacent to the golf club, green fee included. The primary goal of the club is well to flex as many people. Unfortunately, looks no Marshall for a rapid flow of the game. We even start time had about 14:45 and had to wait almost every tee. Thus, it was dusk by 3/4 of the holes and the last 3 tracks were an imposition. The basic concept of "possible to get a lot of money", already demonstrated by the amount of the balls obtained at the driving range. Curiously, however, you get at the start of two mini bottles of water given.
The condition of the place is very good and the greens are fast. More scenic place of terrible is demanding. Since it is in other places (Real Golf Club in the north) more demanded.
The next day we knocked off 7:45 and the game was significantly faster, when we were with the first start ends here. Nevertheless, there have been delays.
Wind default it is on this course much cheaper as in Amarilla (or Golf de Sur).

Very good place, a bit pricey

The place is really in a very good condition. Due to some reviews in 2015, we were critical. It has nothing really applied, except the high price level.
The front desk staff was very friendly. Our reservation worked fine (Albrecht travel, Sheraton la Caleta).
Of course it is a bit crowded, even in February, but those were all places here. The Marshall but everything was under control.
The reductions were probably just renewed. Perfect.
Fairways and greens in very good condition.
The vegetation and the arrangement of the tracks like. Partly a little tight, you have to call FORE happens when you takes your ball.
To the criticism it was too loud: sometimes yes, but we have not felt really disturbing. Since Golf del sur is much worse with its landing aircraft. Eat properly. Outdoor very nice. Waiters quick and friendly Spanish.
The stroller clean, with GPS and ice and water +++
The rental clubs as new, but expensive.
Parking in a large garage, very pleasant. Short distances.
All in all 5 stars, half a star deduction based on the price

Were delighted at Las Americas. Unfortunately, the place was but in a not so good condition as we had remembered him. The Gruns but were however quite good. Certainly the state of Fairwais the high frequency of flights is due, associated with it are also constantly waiting times. Annoying the ball washers without water, the many not patched pitch marks and Balle before your feet without Fore calls - here even ranked a Spanish Teaching Pro one! The Marshall was super friendly and we have already been adopted in the first round with a handshake. This kindness was missing the ladies at the registration completely. Golf in the tourist Mecca

The 18-hole course just off the main tourist area of Las Americas in the south of Tenerife is one thing above all: very full! The four flights are sent from sunrise to sunset on the round. Accordingly, it comes to waiting times. Our round took on 24.02.2015 almost 6 hours and we just made it that way until sunset. The place itself is pleasant without great challenges, therefore, but offers everything for a good round of golf. The condition was fine, especially with regard to the frequency. The greens are fast and undulating well. Three-putting not unheard of! In the office we were served businesslike and the starter is a two small bottles of water along the way. The green fee is moving in the "normal" level for Tenerife and the Golffeecard can still save 10%. A very wise to book tee time "weeks" before.

Mittelmässiger golf course with lousy customer service in the Secretariat

The golf course of Las Americas is, both the layout as well as from her care status, at best, mediocre and great views of the fairways, as in Costa Adeje or Buena Vista, one looks in vain for the complex is set in large concrete square.
I had reserved my tee times for about two months before the desired data using the official form. When paying the green fee, I asked the lady if the reserved time would still be valid as desired and if I could play with other people. Both were affirmed.
When I came to the starter house, waited there for more than 20 people on the tee. This seemed a little strange and I asked the starter if I could knock off at 10.12 clock or not. He hemmed and hawed a bit and moved away just for making phone calls.
Shortly thereafter, a 2-Flight to play got ready to tee 1 and I asked the lady if I could connect me to you. She explained to me that will start today on the 10 and you already would take the second 9 holes in attack. Then I looked at the start list lying on the table a little more closely and noticed that my name was not listed.
The starter then suggested to me to start alone on lane 1 and in the midst of 4-flights or 1 hour to wait until a 3 Flight went to the round. Since I had no desire to do both, I went back to the office and asked the lady to refund me the paid green fee. They absolutely refused and also summoned the manager saw no reason to repay me.
Since I was not particularly interested, already in the late morning to EUR 57 - to renounce, I went to one office in Las Americas. There I was informed in courteous way, that I should ask the golf club an entry in the complaints book (Libro de Reclamaciones) and report me with a copy of the Oficina Atencion for Consumer (was due to my somewhat sketchy knowledge of Spanish to me the officer that in clear German and kindly explained all important addresses and phone numbers written down on a sheet).
When I was in the golf club secretary to record the complaint and a copy book called after about 90 minutes of it, the big search began. And behold, the previously very arrogant Mr. Brendon was suddenly willing to talk. After a few meaningless justification attempts, he instructed his staff to credit me the entry fee to the credit card and cancel the start time of the following day. Unfortunately, the likely reason for the late give in to the golf club employee not have been a rethinking in terms of customer orientation but the fact that he is so pre-empted my call to the local police. This would have granted him a brief tutoring in clients rights and also with a fine because of the finding of non-statutory complaint book him in Spain (Libro de Reclamaciones) happy.

Class golf course. Very good condition. Great green fee offer in May.

This golf course has even garages. Check in was a breeze and also the service in the restaurant is very good.
The place is very well maintained, varied challenging fairways and fast greens make the game interesting. Overall, highly recommended.
Great was the offer in May. For € 148 - 2 people including buggy and very good 2 course meal.

Solid golf fun

The golf course was found in May 2011 in very good condition. For the greens, there was nothing to complain about. Around noon, it was pretty full, but the Marshall put our first tee on the 10, and all was well. The whole service can be described as very good. Fairways are very variable. From narrow to wide handicap-friendly, and more. Water hazards are also in the healthy level, sodas you, no matter what Hdcp, fully comes to sene costs. Food was also top! We had booked the same hotel Marylanza to the system, you need sodas with the car only 3 minutes!

To fully

Here, however, everything hangs out. For this, the price in relation to the Abama course is well maintained and slightly too high. Otherwise, the system is good.
