Most enjoyable.

One of the best Courses with a parkland touch that I have ever played! The holes involves a great variation where a moderate skill is required. Spending some time after the round on the club house terrace, overlooking a pond and the final hole, is a great way of enjoying life.

Amazing

The fairways are in excellent conditions and the putting greens are very well kept. The course is a mix of hard and easy. Many areas where you can practice your putting and chips. A 9-hole compact is perfect for practicing a wide range of clubs. A variation of lengths to make it interesting.
Very peaceful place due to the long road descending upon the golf club, leading it away from the main road.
Parking is more than enough, a huge parking to accomodate a huge amount of people. Staff are very friendly and a variety of golf equipment such as polos, sweaters, golf skirts and shorts, golf bags that are renewed weekly. Caps and shoes are also available with gloves for both hands. Many good competitions and restaurant and bar have an excellent variation of foods and drinks. Flat tv screen to see the live golf tournament for pros.

Scored best round ever

Played this course 3x over 2 weeks. Loved it. Beautifull environment in a valley between Cannes and Grasse. Course is not overly long (5266m from yellow tees), but makes you think about course management. Quite hilly, especially 2nd back 9. The little river nicely comes into play at many holes. Very well conditioned. Greens were fast. If only people could respect them and repair their pitch marks.

Some holes are quite spectacular. Such as the 458m (yellow) par-5 15th that goes down 40m, over the river and then back up 40m. Or the 151m par-3 3rd with the river along the right and an elevated green and woods on the left.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. Excelent driving range facilities.

Pleasant surprise

Played this course on the 24th of September 2012 and was very pleasantly surprised. It is not a long course but it is very tight, particularly, the first few holes, and it is certainly a course that you need to play a few times to become familiar with the lines required for your tee shots. The course was in good condition with the exception of the bunkers which had suffered from the previous days thunderstorms and so we deemed them unplayable. The fairways were lush and the greens were true and fast with plenty of slopes and breaks.
The scenery is excellent and there is plenty of variation around the course, although, we did remark that all the pars 3's were a similar lenght.
On the negative side we were delayed on the first 5 holes by staff working on the course who were in no rush to get out of our way and seemed to be oblivious to the fact that we had paid good money to play golf and not to watch them work. Overall though it was a very positive experience.

Donant in Sept

The lay out is booring it is well kept, but the coEurse are more of a resort course, with few challenging holes or strokes When we played it on the 5th Sept 2011 the greenswere to soft, and to slow, A lot of ball marks on the greens that had not been repaired. I would not return to this course nor recommend it to anyone.

Pure pleasure

I'm an intermittent golfer but evry time i come to the Cote d'Azur I go to St Donat. Why? The two Courses are well kept and a challenge - the staff is always welcoming. The Pro I use, Frederic Anger, is excellent and has the patience of Job... and my and my daughter's game has improved!

The food is excellent, the staff cheery and only too happy too please... That's why I have been returning for the last seven years.

One of the flattest and widest courses in the area

You will be greeted by a very friendly staff. Driving range is practically non-existent. Place is nice and offers a lot of space for this area. According to the reception, the holes will be exchanged promptly, and then you will probably tee off on the current 10th. Overall, a very nice place to play relaxed.

Beautiful golf course

We played the course in mid-May 2023 and were very impressed with the course design. It's not particularly long, so the shots all have to be spot on to get a good score. Course maintenance was fine - greens not too fast, but on track! Nice clubhouse!

Old RTJ place!

Strong Robert Trend Jones design southwest of Grasse. A few top holes and in front of Orr the 4Ball costs € 250. We had booked through Provencegolf and can also be recommended!
Good place with very good care!

Top Place

Have played the course many times. Today again. What strikes me again and again is the sensational state of care. The greens very good and fast. With Terre Blanche the best course maintenance. Price-performance ratio is right here. 90 euros for 18 holes. 185 in Terre Blanche.
Even if the place is hilly, it is easy to walk and carry the bag.

Robert Trent Jones son...

... was allowed to build one of his first places in Europe, almost at the same time as his father in Esterel. He has been in the ranking of the top 100 in France for years - currently in the first 50.

We have always encountered a very well maintained course. The only thing we complained about almost every visit is the restaurant.

It is a good and nice course with a lot of variety and very good greens. He does not play hard. The par 4s all have a moderate length - a wood 3 is enough - and the par 3 are almost tame.

What makes this course difficult are the greens, which can be very difficult if the ball rolls properly. The design shows the school of the father.

This is a place that is easy to play on foot, even if it has a few terrain crossings. In addition, the distances between the holes are short. There are a few holes that have a decent background noise.

It is always fun to play here. For the first time we were here in 1995 - two years after the opening. Tomorrow we play Esterel Latitudes.

Best value for money in the region

An absolute top place at a very reasonable price. All very well organized and nice restaurant with terrace. Perfect care condition from the tee, over the fairways to the greens. The front 9 are much easier but the Back 9 is definitely the sporty and scenic highlight. Not quite as close as Claus-Amic, but you have to place the ball properly so as not to get into trouble. As the attractiveness of the club is rum around is often a lot going on.

Beautiful and athletic

Beautifully landscaped course with a sporting challenge. Who can place the ball or even shapen, is clearly in the advantage. Long hitters have advantages only on few holes, eg on the 15 and the 18.

The place had not survived the hottest summer of all time according to Radio France Bleue. There were Kahlstellen on the greens, dry spots on the fairways and lots of foreign grass on fairways and Vorgrüns. The Greenkeeping was but with great manual effort to bring this in order: As was blown up by hand and and the foreign grass gouged by hand. In the middle of September, the place is certainly back in top condition.

The club restaurant with a great terrace is unfortunately, as so often in the south of France, only open until the early afternoon.

Another sentence on the character of the place, which someone has called "leftist". He is in no way, rather it is a very beautiful, almost classic Parkland Course.

Athletic

The welcome is friendly, a pleasant atmosphere. The driving range has target greens with flags at different distances, highly recommended for imitation. Why does not that work for us? The place is not long but hilly and tricky. The fairways are sometimes narrow or steep. Two par 3 holes require a hit in the green or the ball gets wet. The side rough is heavily undulating, which means: fairway hit or the ball remains hanging sideways in the hill. Long hitter are only at an advantage when they hit the fairways. All in all A great place. m sport challenge

Rip off?

Although a tee time for 70.- booked, the tea time was cleared in retrospect and instead 88.-, but now. But the greens were sent, no indication or a reduction of the green fee. Not good. Extremely slow game, had to wait at every hole. Golf and joy look different. The place itself is okay, rather short and hilly. Could be also everywhere in Southern Europe, thus no particularly marked tracks.

St. Donat, beautiful place, easy to reach

Beautifully situated, is reminiscent of a links course, relatively flat and hilly modiliert in the valley of Grasse towards Cannes. The 18 holes can be played as a 9-hole. The 9-hole short course is widely used as a training ground for beginners. according to state. Very short. Gastro and pro shop very well stocked.
Plenty of parking space available. Likewise, e-cars.
Especially important for guest players: Dressing can be shared, towels. Clean

A top place

We played the course in the spring of 2016 in light rain. A compact space with excellent fairways and greens span Denden. Who is on the Côte d'Azur, should play here.

Beautiful grounds

The tracks are laid out very nice and interresting. The place was very well maintained. Very friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant.
Concerning plastic deductions: This is only available on the short par 3 course. At the 18th hole course there are normal haircuts.
Definitely worth a visit.

The compact site has the right length for a warm summer evening...

A beautiful place with the possibility to go very fast lap. The haircuts are here Plastic and some holes are extremely short but an entertaining evening, it is sufficient, especially if you will only start to 7:30 because of the heat. After that you can still tasty dinner.

Very nice facility

We've only played the first 9 holes. They are very varied, beautifully integrated into the landscape, undulating long wide lanes and two short tracks, water and sand bunkers are beautifully integrated. The greens are sometimes very demanding.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was still open only for lunch.

Varied place on the Côte d'Azur

Have played the course twice during our France vacation. Very varied golf course. The first nine holes are a bit simpler and flatter, and the second nine holes are hilly and difficult to play. But e-cart is not necessary. Staff in shop and restaurant very friendly. A nice vacation place.

Very nice, well-to-play for all levels of court

Meanwhile, this course is one of our favorites on the Cote d 'Azur has become; beautifully embedded in the landscape design and for all levels of both playable and interesting golf course with a very good price-performance ratio.

Unfortunately, you have to make compromises in the hospitality sector, as the afternoon / evening (May), no kitchen, so you can enjoy the beautiful sun terrace for a last drink (the bar closed at 19.00 clock to also).

One of the most beautiful places - one of the most beautyful courses

This place is one of the most beautiful places we have ever played. Despite high summer in excellent condition with maintenance rich greens and well manicured fairways watered. The landscaping with white water streams, lakes, exotic plants, romantic old ruins, cute bridges, hills, etc., is idyllically through and through. Each hole has its own charm and also the club house to speak. The place is not easy, but well done. The PAR 5 are really long, like one would expect of German courts. We'll be back!

This course is one of the most beautyful we've ever played. Despite of hot weather in an excellent condition with green fairways and well-prepared greens. With the whitwater, the romantic old castels, the exotic plants and old trees, the hills and small bridges the landscape is really wonderful. The course is not easy but practicable. Each hole has its charms one. A place to return to.

Nature, landscape and golf

The Saint Donat Golf Course is without doubt one of the best places on the Côte d'Azur and I can only recommend playing there. The scenery is gorgeous, the creeks are beautifully integrated into the course and take their toll ball. The court also heard but the heavy strategic places. Many trees line the fairways and require precision haircuts. The place has very nice upgrades and is therefore also physically challenging. The putting is sometimes not easy, but the greens are sometimes heavily modeled. Short holes are much heavier than the brevity suggests - strategy is needed. Hole 13 appears as simple - an Eagle seems possible... well, seems when you hit präsise. It is a short Par 5 hole that you could easily reach in two shots... Wonderful discount to the 15 must be well placed to cope with the increase also on the Green can into the valley and then the second shot over the creek, but the blows. The 18 leads to the second shot towards the club house and this requires a lot of courage to blow across the pond. The safe option is certainly a bogey with another presenting on the fairway to the green play safely from there.
I can only recommend the place, friendly staff, beautiful scenery, good gepfegter place... all the best.
