For me, this course is in the top three of over 250 courses that I have played so far. Reminiscent of the dune landscape in Dinard, in Normandy.
Wide, well-kept fairways, super beautiful and precise greens, and undulating landscape embedded in the dunes, very attractive design. The only disadvantage: you have to cross the street four times.
I would play here again anytime.

Since my review from 2015 was questioned a bit in 2018 and thank God it was refuted by the next "evaluators", I would like to state the following:
Chiberta is an old golf gem and a course bomb!
Links fairways worthy of the name alternate with gnarled forest holes on the hard fairways on sandy soil. Chiberta is as strong as El Saler in Spain! Strategic golf is in demand and only on a good day will the experienced golfer score well here! I have now played 60 golf courses in France and after Fontainebleau and Chantilly, Chiberta is my number 3 in France!
In front of St Germain, Taulane, le Touquet, Seignosse and Terre Blanche…!
In general, Biarritz is one of the best golf destinations in continental Europe!

If you are in Biarritz, you must have played this older but very spectacular links course. Wonderfully nestled between the sea, beach and houses, the site allows many beautiful views of the sea. Since it is strongly influenced by the wind, the holes often play differently. Once you can play a par 3 with a 7-iron, another time with a three-wood. It is always pleasing to me that the course also allows players who scatter from the tee to get a good score. However, the last holes go away from the sea through a forest area. There is a more accurate game indicated. Since many tourists and older players want to enjoy the course, the pace of play is unfortunately often very slow. But in view of the beautiful view, one can live with that for once. Have fun

Basically: the region as a golf region is not so well known in Germany.
Almost 15 places can be reached in 30-45 minutes. Fair green fees, especially in winter. Quite acceptable temperatures. We had blue sky for 12 days in December. Chiberta is not very far from the "LePhare" club in the neighboring town of Biarritz, Anglet. Less than 15 minutes to drive. There is also a hotel of my own that I have not tested. Chiberta is a mix of links-course along the sea and parkland with high trees. Many greens have to be played very precisely to get an optimal score. The 'views along the sea and the soothing murmur are delightful. Also attractive is the hard ground through the dunes, which also makes the balls roll in winter. Despite the rainy season in France before I played the course, the course was in top condition. The colleague's comment from Dec. 2018 that the place was not a challenge was clearly refuted by my two teammates - both low handicappers. The place is very varied. Good condition and loyal greens. I had no problems with the directions for the next lifts. Forget the online reservation. Just call or drive there due to the proximity to the city (only 15 minutes) the day before and talk to the reception. There is always something. Especially since the front desk was very friendly. Who is not that good in French is not a problem. Through many British in the region a lot also in English.

The first 12 holes are nothing more than a hilly, undulating, very wide meadow, where you can still find and play the worst played ball. every now and then there are a few mini-bünkerchen (good sand). that was it. water or other obstacles: zero. the greens are all nearly flat and simply boring. only the last 6 holes are a bit more demanding (it gets a bit tighter) and also enjoy the landscape. a usable course description on the square is non-existent. Nevertheless: who plays here halfway straight and has the length under control, writes a top result.
I think * kalle * has seen on his * grenade * round more the sea with great light mood than the facts in the square; and probably a great result written. there you have the tendency to give a star more :-)
If you are really looking for a golf challenge then you will be better off in seignosse or moliets.
