Worst of Worst Courses in Germany

We played 9 Holes this morning and it has been one the worst experiences ever. Fertilization was ongoing with a very thick smelly dirt all over fairways, green, at really dry conditions. A cloud was inevitable as we drove our trolleys or swing the club's though the grass. You cannot put in such a greens with lots of tiny rocks and dirt from fertilization. Trolley, clubs, shoes clothes were all dirty and smelly after playing there.
It's a shame that the day before playing as we reserved, nobody told us about the issues of the course. We drove 100 km to play there. Not worth the money at all.

Dear Guest,

We are very sorry, that you had this bad experience on our golfcourse yesterday.

As you wrote, we currently have very dry conditions not only yesterday but the last weeks. As a result of this the greenkeeping-team was unable to apply lime and fertilizer to the ground over the weeks. Yesterday the weather forecast announced some rain for today. So the greenkeeping team decided spontaneously to do this absolute necessary work on Monday.

Unfortunatly there was not even time to inform the secretariat.

We cordially invite you to visit our golf course again in the next few weeks and to play a free round of golf under other conditions.

If you want to accept our offer, please send your name to info@gc-hahn. de so that we can prepare a corresponding voucher.

Kind regards

D. Gontermann

Wonderful way to wait for a Ryanair flight

Played this nine holes course in July 2014 while waiting for a flight. I would best describe this course as experienced - since it was a former USAF base course probably designed in the 60's. A short 15 minute walk from the terminal its ideally situated for travelers interested in spending some quality time waiting for a flight. I experienced a wonderful sunny afternoon but was told by a local golfer that normally wind is a constant companion. Its wooded and I found that finding the next hole in order was challenging due to the layout and a lack of directional arrows. Its short and easy for beginners with some water holes and adequate greens. The rental clubs were a mix and not inspiring but priced right. The club house, bar and restaurant appeared recently renovated. While not an exciting course what a better way to spend some time!

Bad Condition

I played 9 holes today, although I actually wanted to play 18 (2x9). But after seeing the condition of the course (driving range), I decided on 9 holes. The greens were moguls, the balls bounced across the sparse green. The tea box was often grass-free. But then there was the green fee of EUR 25 advertised on the Internet, which turned out to be EUR 30 on site. When asked about this, the snotty answer came that the "problem" was known and, moreover, it wasn't the advertised price that counted in the shop window, but the price on the goods. No accommodation due to the known problem. A unique experience for me - never again.

Actually ok, but the parking ban would have been better

Played on December 18th, 2020. The flat 9-hole course (PAR 36) with a large driving range is located west of Frankfurt and south of Koblenz in the middle of the Hunsrück directly at Hahn Airport. The next motorway (A61) is a few kilometers away and you drive there via the now very well developed two-lane B50. Anyone who takes the path or is close by will find a rather average but definitely beautiful and demanding place. There are a few challenges due to water hazards in front of the greens, e.g. at 2,4 and 7. The most attractive is certainly the 4, (PAR 3), where there is almost only water between the tee and the green. There are some tall trees and rough zones along the tracks, where it is better to be off the tee, although the tees are usually all open. On the 7, a former army bunker comes into play as a visual element. If you want to play 18 holes, there are separate tees for the second round on lanes 1 and 9. These two courses are then played alternately as PAR 4 or 5, which brings a little variety into the game. Since the signs for the next tee are rather small and inconspicuous, you can quickly find yourself on the wrong tee, so it makes sense to take a look at the map on the scorecard beforehand. The maintenance condition was basically okay for the season, but the place was so soft and muddy that the clay stuck centimeter thick under the shoes and the trolley and the place was therefore rather difficult to play on. The set winter greens didn't deserve the name, because apparently only flags were placed in the fairway near the greens and not even the beginning of the grass was mowed. That was rather disappointing. All of that was probably the reason why nobody was on the pitch except me. To be honest, the place should have been blocked in that state. On the lap, I had a short chat with a very nice greenkeeper, who told me somewhat pityingly that it was raining a lot in the region. Nevertheless, the nice and friendly lady in the secretariat / small pro shop left me on the pitch for an affordable € 20 winter green fee with a reference to the winter greens. The standard green fee is appropriate and you can still get a discount with the Golfalbrecht or the Golffeecard. The clubhouse with an attached restaurant (not tested, closed, or only to go dishes) is rather small and rudimentary, but has changing rooms and sanitary facilities. In summer with dry fairways it is probably more fun to play here. However, I wouldn't take the long way to do it again. But if you are in the area anyway, you can take a lap at Hahn Airport (currently very little flight operations).

Pure Nature

Very idyllic golf course. Adapts toll in the Hunsrück countryside. The site offers a number of challenges: for example: all greens are increased, which is not to be underestimated. What is very positive: no long queues to play. The driving range is very generous laid out with covered and open bays. And head of the practice area for pitching / chipping / putting - so much space for that I have rarely seen. And the tone overall is friendly and laid back.

Hello tigerw,

Sorry that you have such a bad experience on the golf course cock. The GC Hahn can not take responsibility for it. By the end of 2013, the golf course of the Hahn Airport Golf Hahn GmbH was operated. The Golf Club Hahn is currently in negotiations with the lessor of the facility, the airport Frankfurt-Hahn GmbH to operate with the goal of 2014 the plant in Club Director. As it stands, this will be the case.

The Golf Club Hahn will then do everything we can to make the golf course again "presentable" - as far as making it of course the weather conditions possible.

Visit. Investment but again this summer, you will be satisfied

Best regards

One-time teaching

Here I would absolutely agree with my prescriber.
I in July 2009, Mr. Schommers in an hour
more learned than some beginner courses of so-called golf academies - including a renowned golf school in Mecklenburg Vorpommern ;-)

Golf lessons

I enjoyed Mr. Schommers the best two hours of my golf life.
Very professional and to the point.
In addition, an impressive video analysis that helped me to improve my weaknesses immediately.
thanks again
