Enjoyed our golf play in GC Bogliaco

We played the 18 holes on July 17 and enjoyed the course a lot. Not to difficult. Nice views. It’s a pitty they don’t participate in the Albrecht discount benefits.

Never visit this place

In many places in the "golf course" there were wet ground instead of grass. Most fields are the same and you will be bored in 30 minutes. Golf carts are old and broken.
Besides receptionist was rude and manager even did not want to speak with us.
I visited 4 golf courses near lake Garda and never seen such terrible place there.

Very nice place, very well well maintained!

We spent a very nice golf week here in June 2023. The course was in very good condition, the staff were very friendly and the food in the clubhouse was also recommended. We also spent one night at the lodge. It's a bit noisy, but also recommended.

Necessarily play!

The course is very varied and also offers a very nice view over Lake Garda! Some of it has quite long paths and it's not just flat! The greens and fairways were in great condition except for hole 11, but there is also a * deduction and that there was no toilet and no water dispenser on site. The price is very fair at 80 euros, unfortunately there are no student rates, but we got a 20 euro discount from our hotel. At the weekend you can play for 20 euros more!

Great parkland course

Surprising gem. The best parkland course I've ever played. Great holes, great views, tight and exciting. The first nine a little nicer than the second nine.

Tight and interesting

I really enjoyed playing this course twice in a row, which demands something but is not boring…. And for €69 very fair and reasonable...
Food very good!! Attention until 18.30..!! Quick espresso at the counter 0.90€ Perfect later at the table with an aperitif 5.80€ ... would love to come back

Today I was at Gardagolf... I have to say that I don't understand why this price was called out twice and played yellow because there was a ProAm... globmanger was accommodating with the Statgeld old price he mean for 60 € .. then he told me it there are new prices (okay I didn't wear glasses, it looked like it currently costs 120€ on the weekend) doesn't work at all.. I said that they had to update it..
Otherwise all nice and tried hard to fulfill all wishes

Nice, tight, heavy

110-year-old course with a beautiful clubhouse and terraces along with mature trees that come into play more often than desired. Recommended from Hcp 36 with ball reserve, great views of the course and lake from the higher tees, especially from the 4th green I found the beginning of October 22 very fast and difficult (mini breaks in front of the hole). Anyone who is on southern Lake Garda should in my opinion play the course to measure themselves. Only on the WE is arrival and access due to traffic extremely cruel!

Tight and heavy!

I played Bogliaco for the first time in 1999, back then as a 9-hole course in the original design! All conversions up to the 18-hole course I have "playfully" witnessed over 23 years.
The end result with the age-old clubhouse in the middle of the complex is really something to be proud of! Of course, the course remains tight, it has lost a little of its charm, but golf tourism increased so much that the 9-hole course actually fell apart! Unfortunately, the club restaurant is only a shadow of days gone by when Bogliaco also played in the top league in culinary terms!
Unfortunately that is over, and the service in the restaurant left a lot to be desired.
The place itself clear 4 stars!

State of care? Oh well!

We played the course in the middle of October 21. It's true, the greens are really good and also the best on the course! But don't expect a championship course! The tea boxes which were open at all are a field! Men mostly played from blue, which makes this previously short course an even shorter one, where you can definitely leave the driver at home. There are much better places like Garda and Arzaga! The green fee, however, was really appropriate and for a change and if you are already in the area, you can play it, taking into account the reduced expectation.

Very nice place - narrow and difficult to play

Today we played the course - the condition is well maintained - fairways sometimes dry but easy to play - the greens very well maintained and the bunkers excellent!
The lanes are relatively narrow and sometimes very tricky but that shouldn't be a problem for golfers who are currently playing!
We experienced the positive additional surprise in the clubhouse on the beautiful terrace with a view of the complex! We had a fish platter with prawns, etc. 2 cola 1 water 1 coffee 1 cake - everything was excellent - when a price of € 28, - had to be called

Conversion very successful

Had already written a review here in 2016. Since then, a lot of soil has been moved on the square again, but it has been worth it. The new layout makes the game even more varied but not easier either. We played here in June 2021 and the state of care was great and the secretariat friendly.
But the course is still a "dog", I hardly know any golf course that is so tricky / difficult to play, but never "unfair".
If you are looking for and love a challenge, this is the right place for you. I gave it 5 stars again.

Old, rustic, narrow and tricky

Played here for the last time in 2018, space is still very tight, iron more sensible than driver. A few holes rebuilt very well, unfortunately the greens were very slow. Fairways okay, bunker sand to play well.
Course length now from yellow 5,235 m at par 70.
Place very tricky and therefore rated as difficult.
Secretariat and restaurant very friendly!

Great location

The challenging course is the only one on the west bank of the lake and is one of the oldest in Italy. It is sporty and challenging and has interesting holes. Especially the tee of the 4 with a great view over the lake to the green far below is super beautiful. The clubhouse is beautiful. Unfortunately an old, not well-kept range. It's a shame he's not in leisurebreak...

Sporting challenge

A very nice old Italian golf course with a great sporting challenge! Technically refined and not to be underestimated in terms of fitness (altitude difference). The more often I play it, the more I love it with all its playful variety, the many bunkers, the old olive trees and the wonderful view of the mountains and Lake Garda. A venerable and very elegant clubhouse with excellent staff in all areas. Typical Italian and excellent cuisine. This golf course can only be recommended! Nice game and lots of fun.

3rd oldest golf club in Italy...

... with a very glorious guest history that began in 1912 but did not last very long.

Already in the middle of the 20-ziger years was over it, the authority commanded agriculture on this area.
An airfield was even built in the 1930s.
At the beginning of the fifties, a campo was born again.
You can see and feel, that originally a 9 Bucas - Campo was built. The expansion to 18 Bucas is not back 20 years.

We could not find out who the planners were.

It is a very sporty Campo, not playful, but physical. Considerable height differences must be overcome, the ascents and descents are sometimes steep. The holes are mostly flat and not so long, but sometimes narrow.
The driver had a break, but a small wood or long iron more in the bag.

From tea to green, the player with the widest variety of grass varieties and their growth needs to get along, was not always easy. The playability of the fairways was not always good, the green very well.

One third of the Car-Path is attached, this is very good. The rest is unpaved and are junk tracks when using a car. Even on foot, some places are not ideal - quite laborious.

Overall, this Campo is rather rustic maintained, the maintenance is.

The old club house was renovated a few years ago, the kitchen is highly recommended.
You can also stay here, looks good.

Three Steren are fine, nothing more.

Sophisticated beautiful place

We played the course for the first time on the 22nd of June. Unfortunately we had some bad luck with the weather and could not enjoy the partly great view. And with a stronger wind and 15 minutes of rain the course became even more difficult. The course is characterized by many narrow lanes, but they are varied. As far as the paths between the railways are concerned, we did not find them too long. And the signage is very good, so you can easily find the next tea.

It is true that the place is apparently in a longer conversion phase, which will make the place but certainly more attractive, once everything is complete. So there are great new repaired water hazards that require precise playing. But what is important, it was affected by the renewal measures no tracks so that you could not play properly. The tees, the tracks, the bunkers and the greens were in top condition even after a night of heavy thunderstorms. In the care of the place and especially when it comes to the bunker, I think the Gardagolf Country Club could even learn something from Bogliaco.

But I would like to make a reference to the golf course. Coming from Salo, BMW drivers (I'm one of them) should not trust the sat nav, because that's pure adventure. Here we were guided through alleys, which were only to be mastered with folded mirrors, as they were suddenly only 2 m wide. The normal access to the place, which we used on the return trip is certainly not a detour and is fast and short.

We will definitely play the course again when we are back in the area. Hopefully in better weather.

There are only five stars, because not all renovations have been completed yet. I wish the club that he will be able to finish everything soon. Then I would award 5 stars next time.

Historically but not automatically good

We played the course in early June 2019.
If you read the previous comments you can partly not believe that it is the same place that was rated here.
But somehow everyone is right.
The place left an ambiguous impression on us as well.
On the one hand, the place certainly lives from the history and you get here and there a sense of the original layout and idea of the place. In many cases, however, this can no longer be fully understood, since the space is extremely angled due to modifications and adaptation to the surrounding buildings and use of the terrain and requires long distances between the holes.
On the homepage of the club is the talk of further conversions, which should obviously be completed in 2017.
On the 10th and 11th, however, there is still a construction site that does not give the impression that the work will continue tomorrow. Also in other places on the square you do not have the feeling that all measures follow a common idea.
There are places that have preserved their historical heritage over the decades and are still fun today.
Unfortunately, this is not the case here. Whether the responsible persons in the conversions still get the curve remains to be seen.
In any case, the place is not a recommendation in this condition.

Warning to the easter holidaymakers

For 20 years I play this beautiful golf course. He is one of my absolute favorite places. The restaurant is top class.
The ladies in the office very friendly. We have the place on 29.03.2019. played. He was in an incredibly bad condition. On tracks 9 and 10, major construction works (ponds rehabilitated and newly created) are carried out. The two PAR 4 courses were therefore extremely reduced to PAR 3 lanes with wintergreen (flag is in the middle of the fairway). All other railways are in a catastrophic state. The fairways are dried up and only sparsely covered with grass. The greens unkempt. Obviously, the greenkeepers are used exclusively for the reconstruction work.
Despite these significant shortcomings and limitations, the full green fee price was required by order of the club manager.

Challenging, varied course

I played the course in February.
You can tell immediately that this is an old place. Partly tight but very varied. Accurate game is rewarded. The place is beautifully landscaped, it goes through olive groves, very beautiful trees.
Unfortunately in February larger conversions were in progress, so the point deduction, because the many construction machines disturbing the rest a bit.
But think, after the remodeling there is the full score of me.

Beautiful but difficult place

The course is interestingly designed, offers beautiful views and is very hard to play - especially the first time. I have a handicap of 33 and get this place a 41, which says a lot.

Fortunately, we decided to take a cart at short notice. At 35 degrees, the space on foot is hard to master. There are a lot of paths that sometimes lead steeply up the mountain.

We can only recommend the place.

Conversion of the conversion succeeded!

We play at intervals from time to time this place. Know him, so to speak, from the original state to today's conversion. First of all: The first and perhaps last transformation has succeeded and lets forget everything that was previously "messed up". Chapeau! From the lane 1 to the lane 7 everything remains as usual (Rectification: The signature hole overlooking the lake is not the 5 but the lane 4, par 3 steeply downhill). The former 8 (par3) was dissolved and placed elsewhere in a par 4. The former green is chipping area and could fix weaknesses in this discipline, God willing. Track 9 + 10 are old acquaintances. From the 11 the new building is fully in motion. Railways were turned around, partly left, changed or completely new created. Overall, we can only welcome this redesign. The place is sometimes very hilly, that is for a certain clientele a cart is recommended, the car must remain on the paths, which forces in unfavorable Schlagwahl but to some paths. Cart price with 40 € in the upper segment. Secretariat very friendly, especially if you are a little Italian. Greenfee with 69 € on weekdays no bargain, in view of the conversion costs justifiable. Fairways very good, greens good to very good. At our visit was still worked with excavators and similar large equipment - if that is not a top spot. 5 stars ever on credit. Talking about the restaurant would mean carrying golf balls to Athens. Arriving sometimes very tight - no risk, no fun. We look forward to a reunion.

Gladly played

The place is very nice embedded in the nature, the design is not modern, but I guess.
Fairways partly tight, on flights on parallel lanes, exact play is already necessary.. but the place is fair.
The condition is good, greens very different, partly wet, partly already dry... but so is the nature, when one starts 9 am in the morning.
We come back gladly again.. only do not believe the navigation from the south, the roads are so narrow that you also get stuck with a middle class car, so follow the signs from the north!!!
Gastronomy is ok., Certainly no Spitzengastro.

Enger, nice place

Beautifully landscaped spot, with some raised slopes in a narrow valley, therefore despite the brevity - 5,225 m - difficult to play.
Many bottlenecks, tactical game is in demand!

Wonderfully the Par 3 of the 4, extremely elevated tee with beautiful view up to the lake Garda.

Unfortunately the fairways not quite in order, the greens rather in a bad, not mown state, partly also differently fast.

Beautiful parkland course

We were on the 12.09.17 noon on the square. It had rained heavily the last few days and today was still strong wind. Therefore in the office (very friendly service!) 20% of the green fee were reduced. The Birdiebook was free. The CaddyMaster was also very friendly and attentive.
The course was in very acceptable condition despite the wetness, the fairways and greens partially covered with foliage and branches (20%). The tea boxes would have needed a little more attention.
The Front Nine were varied and hilly, but very easy to cope with. The wind had a strong influence on the game. Due to the narrowness of the terrain, strategic play is recommended during the first round of the course.
The backnines also begin tightly and with water impediments, which make the tracks even more difficult.
The layout of the railways is certainly due to the difficult tpoography, but not really unclear.
All in all a challenging place with some nice views, which is worth playing!
Unfortunately we could not try the gastronomy, since the kitchen was closed at 6:00 pm.

Golfrunde 25.5.2017
GC Bogliaco

Partly cloudy 23 C, hardly breeze,

Course characteristics:
A venerable 100-year-old (1-9) 18-hole course with high high-altitude slopes with a great lake view. The front lines (1-8) are very nice to play. The backnines (from the 9-18) look a bit confused, the last 4 holes are arranged quite crosswise and transversely, at least for us a little too confusing, but also no boredom.
According to the Secretariat, however, this is due to a rebuilding which is to be completed in the coming days.
Overall the place is partly narrow, very hilly, partly very strong winds. Very nice on different levels times in narrow times in sprawling distance to the other railways.

With many great views far into the whole valley.

Others:
Friendly service.
Old, neat clubhouse
Noble gastronomy with upscale offer

Conclusion: to recommend, possibly cart use, to be able to enjoy the great views.

Ancient Parkland Course

We have played the place many times and are always happy to come here.

The over 100-year-old course offers a lot of variety: on the first 9 holes dominate courses with old trees and a spectacular tee-off on track No. 5 with a view of the lake. Partially narrow fairways demand a precise and intelligent game instead of wide hunting.

The second 9 holes are somewhat more open, but they are by no means more boring to play.

During our last visit at the end of April / beginning of May 2017 the reconstruction and partial reinstallation of the holes at the end of the round was still in progress. We are looking forward to playing the new holes next time.

We would give a special star for the club house with its wonderful terrace and the excellent kitchen! Anyone who appreciates a good pasta is right here.

We were disappointed with the very short runways. Also, there are seven par-3 holes. The other tracks are rather short and very tight. Since the tracks are very very close together and you may already play off handicap 54, it is often very narrow. The first 9 tracks are incredibly steep and short and thus rather something for Wedge.
It was mowed despite sport at sher many cars and so we had to anyway short tracks also waiting.

Always worth a round

I've played the first 9 holes on this course in late September 2013. The fairways are really a little small and require a precise game. The place itself is very nicely laid out and well maintained. Also we have made the experience that the best craftsmen game time something on the pitch repair (in our case, a wall). When they saw us, but they gave us a sign that we can play quietly. Although I am honored leap of faith, but I have preferred to play slightly shorter to keep them safe not to take. We especially liked that run on some tracks goats around freely. I was definitely the place to be tight. If at any second track "FORE!" is called and you have to take cover, simply does not constitute a relaxing game of golf. Especially the back nine are fairly executed squeezes.

Well just the way were repaired. It's not really great if three workers work five meters next to the green, and do not bother drum, just if someone wants to pass this green.

Wonderful, especially for women

We (HC order die18) have played this course in May 2011. Despite drought and heat over 30 degrees lush fairways and excellent greens.
There is an old "English" course, shortly (8 x par 3, tw little over 100m long by yellow), narrow, much from the right and left, so ideal for players who are not as long but just are, like our two fellow wives. Bad for stray hitters. The terrific par3 No. 5 with felt 60 m height difference and sweeping views of the lake. Actually, you have to play him twice because one gives away too many tactical mistakes the first time. Much for the eye, much gameplay. Good price / performance ratio.

Beautiful and noble

Even if the place - especially on the back 9 holes - suffers because he has been brought "with force" to 18 holes, it offers plenty of fun and playfulness. The condition is good to very good, plenty of water and mature trees make playing in the summer bearable. When the mist over the lake permits, to offer some great views of the lake. Very elegant clubhouse with a nice restaurant.
