Characteristics

"The club is also commonly called ""Holy water Club"" because of its location. It was founded in 1903 and was the first Club in Italy. The course is situated on even terrain between ancient ruins of the Roman period, creeks and other witnesses of the period, which are scattered over the terrain. During the almost 100 years of existence many breadth of golf and statesmen have swung the club here."

Great course, poor player's behaviour

We played on May 11 2012 in perfect weather and course condition. The fee of 100€ is high though. There are better value/price relations in Rome for instance the magnificent "Parco de' Medici". The reception was snappy and the players on the course snobby. Italien flights of 4 are extremely slow! We agreed with the one in front of us to pass them at a Par 3. With our ball on the green they picked up one of our balls to throw it to us and to command us to persue directly with the next hole without finishing that hole. What a horrible behaviour! My guest from the US was shocked! This ruined his first nine holes. And the management was not willing to listen to our complains. The course itself: many Tee-Offs from plateaus. Great fun to see the ball fly way down the fairway! Perfect fairway condition. Difficult and very fast greens on hills but with little ondulations. It helps to play with a person who knows the course well though: many blind holes with hidden greens. Fantastic trees on the course. Very beautiful. All in all: a fine course but not our first choice in Rome. Besides Parco de'Medici we'd also prefer Olgiata in Rome's North-West. The course is five star. Unfortunately the people were not. We wish you better luck.

Pure rip off…

The golf course has simply doubled its prices around the 2023 Ryder Cup. It was not possible to book online on the homepage (Ryder Cup ban), the massively increased prices were not declared and they were not mentioned when making a reservation by telephone. The “surprise” in the pro shop was even bigger.
But with a bit of glee we were able to note that this rip-off strategy didn't work because the place was more or less empty.
There remains a stale aftertaste :-(

That is how it goes

I played the course in Sept 2022. The course was in a reasonably playable condition because of the dry summer. Unfortunately, it rained a bit on the day of the match and the days before were also a bit too wet and the pitch was therefore a bit deep. Knowledge of the course is an advantage for a good score, especially since there are so-called blind holes. The paths between the tracks are kept quite short, sometimes a bit bumpy. Greens and fairways were ok. Now the staff wasn't overly friendly, but they weren't rude either. Price - performance rather in a disproportion; I wouldn't pay €100 for it now. There are nicer places for the money in Italy.
