Regarded as one of the best golf courses in the country by Golf Digest magazine, Belém Novo Golf Club is a recent new choice for golfers in the capital city of Porto Alegre. Founded in 1994, it is also one the most difficult courses in Brazil. There are lakes on most holes and the wind is usually unrelenting. The clubhouse is cosy – in the winter, the fireplace helps to keep the clubhouse warm after the game. It is worthwhile to stop by the pro shop to replace your ball supplies, since it is one of the most varied in Brazil.

The course is set within Terraville condominium, and it is responsible for boosting the sport in the capital city. Aberto do Belém Novo and Copa Mercosul de Duplas are some of the tournaments that have made golf active in the State recently. The club is open to visitors.
