Nice course, nothing to eat.

This is still a nice golf course. It had been 10 years. We decided to "stay and play" for 4 days and three nights. Arrived at 745 PM hungry. Restaurant was closed. In the AM went to the restaurant only to find it had been rented completely by a group of Koreans. No food, at all, for anyone else. We had to ride a silly "Chiang Mai Zoo" bus over to the clubhouse for a fair, at best, ABF. I am serious about the bus. GC apparently bought the old bus from the zoo to shuttle golfers from the hotel to the course. Do not go here unless you get news that the Koreans, and their nasty coordinator, are gone. I was told by mgt that the rental was for January and February "only". Very poor management decision. Only the 30 or so Koreans on the GC. We felt very unwelcome. Sad, such a nice golf course. We played one round, and left hungry, even though mgt paid for a light lunch after I reported my concerns. Very sad. Reasonable price for a nice place but most of us need to eat.

Quite playable golf course in northern Thailand

Fourth, we also played the Waterford Valley Golf Club in Santiburi.
This place was again very different to play than the Santiburi before.
Also quite interesting layout, condition is OK.
The Caddies had only rudimentary English skills, but were still very hard-working, knew about the place and could read the greens.

Conclusion: no "must have", but still highly recommended if you want to play golf in Chiang Rai.

Unprofessional organization

We were there 2 hours early. We could not start, although there were no golfers. It would be a group and we can neither T1 nor from T10 to start from (as the Dragon House at the reception). After more discussion still no chance. The lady just laughed at us.
After we have created the caddies so that we can invite the bag again, and we all had claimed could start from T10. The group of golfers still was not there.
