Chaotic rip-off

The course is very confusing with bad signage. At times we had no idea if we were on the right fairway. The 5th appears on the back of the scorecard as going alongside the road but that is the 15th. The online distance indicators also partly show the wrong holes. The course itself (in early June) had no brown patches but a lot of clover on the fairways and the greens weren‘t great. Worst of all is the green fee. They show it on their website as €50. When we arrived, we were told that is the fee for Italian golfers and foreigners must pay €80! Having driven there, we paid but even if it is legal, they should warn people on the website. The girl behind reception did then give us a voucher for two free drinks. For €50 it is at the limit given the state of the course but €80 is basically a disgrace. Conclusion: Don‘t bother

Disaster

This golf course is a complete disaster. We have never experienced such a neglected place. The most positive thing was that the sun was shining.
The course layout is sometimes chaotic and life-threatening due to crossing lanes.
Never this place again. Actually you should get money to play there and not pay for it.

Maximum suitable for football golf

Tees and fairways deserve 0 points, even though this spring there was actually no lack of water. Bicycle helmet recommended, since tees go over running paths without one having a view of the other players. So somehow underground

Can you play

Played the 18th hole at the Golf Club Villafranca today. It's hard to describe, but I'll try. The condition is questionable, the fairway full of clover and the second section with even more clover, the greens are okay and fast. The lanes run back and forth, sometimes with two tees for two holes, quite exciting. Paths often cross, which is clearly a danger for everyone involved. It was quite exciting to play the course, but that will probably stay with the one trip. The entire facility has a certain charm, if you tidy up and clean it definitely gives you a chance for more. The driving range was a highlight with a trackman, I didn't expect that. Unfortunately, the gastro was closed, so no rating.

Terrible...

Despite the many negative reviews, I went to Villafranca with curiosity and an open mind. It won't be that bad, I thought... Now I know better: the place is really indescribably bad and not even worth half a star.

First of all, the condition of the haircuts is bad. Not even the rough of a decent golf course looks like this. Uncut, bumpy, sandy in between. This applies to ALL discounts! From there you hit just about acceptable fairways. The greens defy description. Often patchwork rugs with bald spots. On the day of my visit all greens were aerated and sanded. That is basically commendable and you can be confronted with it on every golf course - but then it is usually pointed out before the game (or already when booking) and the green fee is almost always reduced. It doesn't seem to matter there... I've never played such a unkempt and run-down course as in Villafranca - and that's almost 100 now.

The layout is even more adventurous than the state of the course. Wild birds are nested in the webs. Occasionally one has the impression that the numbers of the tees were simply scattered over the place. From some greens you walk forever to the next tee, passing other tees and fairways. Helpful signage is rarely found. Of course, the operators know about the mess and therefore hand out a map at the registration desk, but that too is so indistinct and hardly legible for people who wear glasses that it doesn't help much either. To top it all off, a footgolf course has also been integrated into the golf course. The flags of its holes are still everywhere and with the already confusing layout you can't tell from a distance whether the flags belong to the green or to footgolf. Occasionally you have 3 flags in view. It's indescribable...

But it's not just the horribly bad place that spoils the golf mood, but also everything around it is just sad. Everywhere you get the impression that there is only so much being done here that you can somehow play golf and collect a few euros green fee. On the terrace/in the restaurant it is no different. The service is adapted to the place. The tables are not cleared and cleaned, and if you don't force yourself you can't order anything. It doesn't help that the prices are moderate and you even get a voucher for a free drink per guest.

Only about 5 kilometers away is the "Golf de Verona", a dream course and worth the money in every respect. And even the often scolded "Paradiso" golf course, about 15 minutes away by car, looks like Augusta compared to Villafranca.

Conclusion: Terrible. If you don't have a masochistic streak, you should avoid this place.

Nice interlude with a leasure break

Have played the place on the trip to the south of Italy. Certainly not a PGA seat, but it was fun to play. Lanes are known to be somewhat nested, so please take the map with you. You can't expect Scottish fairways after the hot Italian summer - this to the previous comments, but the condition was quite satisfactory.
In the restaurant we were able to have the lunch menu, which was not only excellent but also surprisingly cheap in terms of price. Both in the secretariat and in the restaurant, the ladies were very friendly and so it was a very pleasant day of golf.

From a distance, it's pretty easy on the eyes, unfortunately catastrophic

We could only play 9 holes on 08/29/21, as a football golf tournament was taking place on the other 9 holes at the same time. That was a good thing, because the condition of the place was catastrophic. From a distance, the square actually looked pretty nice after lane 1, but unfortunately not at all from close up. The fairways consisted of a kind of lawn / clover / weed mixture, right and left of the lanes zero course maintenance, the greens partly without grass cover. We paid 35 € for the 9 holes and are really no "penny pinchers", but that was still too much for the condition. In the gastro "Self Service" with plastic cups -> 0.5l Radler cost 5 €. What a shame!

Unfortunately getting worse and worse

We have already played this course several times and this time we have found that the condition of the course is getting worse. Completely dried out fairways, tees mostly somewhere on the fairway, the paths between the individual holes just dust and gravel. Partly confusing fairways, in different places it seems that it is being rebuilt. It would have been better to invest the money in improving the space than building the pool, which is mostly used by noisy children. It is therefore not possible to enjoy a meal in the associated restaurant after the round - the restaurant is part of the pool area.
The choice of dishes in the restaurant is minimal, the service "well". Most of the members do not visit the restaurant because they do not think the behavior of some of the visitors (their feet on the table !!!) is good. Unfortunately, the cozy atmosphere from before has disappeared.

Restaurant top

If you have no right, this is the place for you. Scenic, flat, beautiful place in the middle of vineyards. Care catastrophic when greens are also playable. Something built with double discounts. Restaurant absolutely great and staff very friendly. Visit restaurant without golf absolutely recommendable... price performance top and compensated for a little maintenance of the golf course.

I have already played there more often and can not confirm these extremely negative reviews. The condition is not always perfect, that's right. The people are really nice. And finally, I pay only 40 instead of 100 euros.

Potato field

We played the course today. Unfortunately this is totally overpriced for euro 60.00. The haircuts were in the meadow. The fairways have almost no grass. Our trolleys were full of mud and then there is not even a hose or air to clean. Never again!!! Is not worthy of a leisure breaks. Elisabeth and Walter g. From Tirol

Potato field

Such a neglected place we have never found in our 15-year "golf career". The reduced green fee of 40 euros is still overpaid in view of this potato. The markings are so faded that you can only guess the colors. It may be that the place looks different in the summer months. Our experience coincides with those comments that refer to the autumnal space conditions.

Casual, relaxed golf

All around relaxed atmosphere, very interesting layout - I have never seen 18 varied holes in so little space and so nested, thanks to the good signage but everything is easy to find.
The course maintenance of the tees is Italian casual, but not easy in the heat.
If you are looking for a PGA-worthy place with generous dimensions, you should stay away, so bad reviews come together. Everyone else will have fun.

Beautiful Place

A bit of getting used to is the tee-off finding. But if you get a plan at the golf office, that's quite possible. Condition was good. Greens fast. You can see the place is being upgraded. With 40 € green fee very fair. I played the course twice and I like to come back.

What a field

We found the golf course in the Leiseurebreack book and tried to play on 21.09.2017. After 9 holes we broke up, because this is not a golf course, but a potato pancake! There is no longer any grass growing, everything is weakened, and then even signs which are no longer readable at all.

No euro for Greefee to invest - golf course is intolerable and deserves the designation golf course not!

Add new life with new leadership

During the 8 days on the golf course Villafranca we noticed two things next to vernal vegetation:
1. Rege GreensKeeper activity
2. positive change of the overall picture

But one after anonther.
To be able to take four of us to play in the spring sunshine golf to live right on the square and Django and Enya with the round (the latter being an adult Briard couples) who chose the Garda in the extended environment of the golf course Villafranca di Verona.

While my girlfriend and I stayed at the apartment (595, -. € for 8 days, including full breakfast), the two dogs resided with their golf playing people in the luxury 10m motor home under trees, directly on the shady Club parking lot.

Sensitized by the negative to scathing reviews we suggested for the first time on the relatively flat landscaped par 70 course from.
The first 9 holes extend similar to the & - sign and are practically applied in parallel to the second. 9 This facilitates orientation on the inevitable crossing walking distances in the second part of the round considerably.

The webs are of medium length, and are lined with poplars. Raff found virtually nowhere what the results of the two single-handicapper and the HCP could turn out equally low 12 and 14 players.
The often complained of bunkers are newly sanded almost completely. Some fairway bunkers are gone. For this, a large-area water obstacle has been created, which flanked the greens of the webs 2 and 11 and at the same time can be difficult allude 12 the par 3 of the web.

The greens were absolutely faithful and pretty fast, which made the putts on partly strongly undulating surface to the challenge.

In general, the area seemed very neat and tidy. The Green Keeper activity was, however, disturbing to be described as very active at any time.

Why the place was last broken in the ratings so no one could really understand ourselves after 8 rounds played.
In the clubhouse, however, we learned that there has been a change of ownership and is now investing heavily in space and buildings and will.
For the golf course Villafranca this change was certainly a blessing and has helped us a marvelous golf week to start the season.

Oh, as boarders we had just 20, - € to pay for the round. Take a relaxing drink prices and very friendly service and the Briard found the finale of tea 19 extremely pleasant.

Only criticism is the restaurant. It is pleasantly small, quaint and pampers guests with magnificent rustic steaks. That it is only open on 4 days is incomprehensible and extremely unfortunate. The new club leadership will certainly notice this fact as be rectified. Because we are confident.

We know where we will usher in the season 2018 and can only recommend the facility.

This is not a golf course but a potato field

We played on the weekends with friends (Hcp. 9 - 20) this place. The condition is catastrophic. The fairway is really just a potato field with scattered green grass stains. Bunker unplayable as concrete littered with rocks. Greens unkempt only partially brown with fungus for this space € 80.- Green fee. require borders actually already on insolence. When asked about this said the lady in the Secretariat they do not understand our excitement, the club members find the place absolutely fine, not a word of apology.

Pure disaster

There were four (HCP 12-18) on 10.02.2016 on this system.
Unanimous opinion was the worst and ungepflegteste place we've ever played. Haircuts bad in overgrown ungemäht and wild. Fairways terribly unkempt. Mostly no herbage. Bunker unplayable because full of stones and hard as concrete. Greens overgrown gray unkempt and with mushrooms. Partial tears by the greens. It's a shame because a very nice location and a beautiful trees with interesting paths. We will avoid this place in future. There are much nicer facilities around the lake.
After this experience, we have refrained from visiting the restaurant.

Who can read is an advantage

When I read, 35 .-- € for a round in a resort area, then I can not expect St. Leon-Rot.
When I with their prices will add the gastronomy add, then I have a thoroughly enjoyable package here.
And the place has a fun corners and edges.
A long weekend in preparation for the domestic season, or even enjoy a few warm days to the end and then put some nice wines with home that is relaxed golf.
If you want the glitter of Arzaga or Chervo, if you please, Hunni NEN pull the trigger and explain that's golf. To each his own.
I'm going back down.

Can you play

Now in September saw that quite improvements have been introduced.
The reductions are all newly sown, distances and signs that lead to the individual teas are fully available.
The fairways are reclaimed, but are very different in grass texture with a lot of clover. The Greens present themselves well and not too easy.

The bunkers are filled with a grass / stone mixture, which can ruin a the thugs who are absolutely in need of improvement.

The atmosphere is sometimes very ugly, dilapidated, farm outbuildings and machines line the fairways. But it also plays on grapevines and Pappelnallen along as the true feeling.

The course is technically not very sophisticated, but quite interesting for a round, partly because unusual fairway curves. For the green fee in my opinion, absolutely ok

Very nice and very reasonably priced is the clubhouse in the old courtyard building, very nice service and English club boss. Next door in the tract are the rooms, although a bit small but charmingly decorated. Breakfast also perfectly fine.

We played an afternoon there and then stayed, great-value accommodation and 30 € green fee per person for overnight guests.
It was worth it and we had a good time.

Oh

I was with a group of 15 golfers on Lake Garda. Sorry, we have made a trip to the Golf Club Villa Franca. I would have to read the reviews here, we would have saved us a day of golf "to forget". Unkempt discounts, chaotic web guide coupled with "stone bunkers" has completely spoiled us the game of golf. Although we were logged in, we had to start some unknown reason on the web 10.
The square itself is relatively narrow and some paths intersect. There is no distance information on the tracks and the fairways were interspersed with many holes.
Conclusion: if you would like to play golf this place is not for you. Since there are much nicer and gepflegtere courses in the vicinity.

Response from Adami Paolo, President of Golf Club Villafranca
May 7, 2015

I didn't really want to have po post this but I feel I have no other option. The first question I must ask is the following: is it normal for a Pro to turn up to a golf club seeking to make his own… More

I didn't really want to have po post this but I feel I have no other option.
The first question I must ask is the following: is it normal for a Pro to turn up to a golf club seeking to make his own profit at the expensive of his friends who he has travelled to play golf with? The second question is as follows: is it normal for a Pro to turn up to a golf club and decide the amount he is going to pay to play?
The answer to both those questions is no.
Well, where do I even start? In this case, the availability of the club and its facilities were at the complete disposal of this group, to such an extent that we even allowed the group to play first and then settle up and pay later. We left the leader of the group in-charge of this. (I assume the gentleman who has left the above review, let's call him Mr. X).
After having played, Mr. X came to the reception desk to pay the bill. However being a sneaky and cunning man, Mr. X, noticedtharthe "Members only" price differs from the Pro price. Mr. X demanded to pay the "Members only" rate rather than normal rate.
He then refused to pay the pro rate and was in such a ragethat I think it would be better to describe his behaviour as a child's tantrum. (Reader, I must remind you that the average handicap of the players was -45). As he was causing such a scene I had no choise but to remain as diplomatic as possible.
As a result, Mr X paid less for each member of his group and so made a little profit. Having got what he wanted, I invite Mr X to never return to our club ever again. He then spent the rest of the day at the bar.
He than had the dignity of coming back to the secretary in order to buy souvenirs and gadgets for his group, probably because he didn't want his group to see he had ended up paying less and made money from them!!!
I also have to add that all the members of his group had a fantastic time: they spent the whole day at the bar drinking and eating and they were very pleasant. It was only Mr X who seemed to have a bad day.
It's nice to think that, for once, the foreigner goes home with his tail between his legs.

Thanks for the kind help

We play for about 3 years in Villafranca, this year, the management has changed, as we were on Saturday on site, was broken into our car and into the neighboring car, strangely no one has seen anything and heard, even though the car in the middle of the car park stood between tea 1 and 10. That day was also the tournament an Italian BAnk. The video surveillance (Expressed writing) no longer exists and the parking attendant did not see anything...??

Truly a highlight :-(

This course does not deserve to bear the name of the golf course. Very unkempt (I was there during the week and I have seen the entire round no single Green Keeper), the individual holes are miserable or not described at all and you never know virtually where to go to the next tee.
The green fee is quite cheap, but too expensive for this place condition still!
To be fair, I must add that one of my playing partner said that to him this rustic, natural (maybe he meant to say the nature surrendered) places very much.

Many trees and somewhat confusing

The place has a very old trees, which often comes into play (whether by you or on the adjacent fairway). Sometimes one has the feeling that one plays in a pinball machine The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The entire system makes the impression that they would be used by a farmer as compensation area. The arrangement of the holes is very confusing and not exactly abundant signs (few or almost no Entfrenungsangaben). The bunkers have little to sand and are therefore mostly unplayable. The greens, however, have quite good quality and are well designed. At this place you can at any time make a Lady (1 bottle prosecco costs 6 €).
All in all, however, makes it fun to play on this system.

Is it called "gschlampert" or nonchalant...

... anyway everything seems a bit clumsy and improvised. And because both the round of golf as well as the around it does not cost much, all the staff is so friendly, courteous and helpful, you just can not say anything bad about it.

The cook may be that he also happen to have to make the green keeper, but he was so touching care of our wellbeing that the result of his art was secondary... which one forgives everything.

The square itself is now not really a piece Gusto, but you can play it and if you look at the total package, for us it was a very great (golf) tag.

Comfortable yes, but a maze

A farmhouse with angeschlosenem Golf Course. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly members. But with what claim the place has earned the designation Championship Course is a mystery. But that is probably just as exaggerated as the restaurant mentioned in the prospectus which is very similar to a works canteen in Romania. But who called a dry pork chop or warmed pasta as a culinary highlight because it is "cheap" and water and wine is free, which it is probably appear as quaint.
I recommend every new player necessarily be a Member in the game to close otherwise he surely tees off on the wrong tea or lost.
Also, with the offered rooms you have taken something.
There is no bottle water in the room and also to get from any machine. Breakfast at half past seven, it was not.
Supposedly only from 9 clock. Then got corn flakes but no bowl or spoon for dry, old sand from cake and espresso machine. EXHIBITING could also account no and I had to write myself a receipt and have it signed.
So all cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Ha, ha
