Characteristics

Water is the typical character trait of this course by José Maria CañiZARES: The 17th hole is even surrounded by water on three sides. But the other holes, too, are quite spectacular. Because of that you will enjoy the wunderful view on the sea at the third hole, without having to fight with the water hazards.

A challenge and a pleasure

This is my 3rd year coming back to Anoreta. As a 6 hcp. in Canada, the fairways and greens are very similar and the course has a very demanding layout. Playing from the back tees, my scores are in the 85 to 88 range. No. 17 has to be played full length to appreciate its difficulty. Precision approaches are a must as the greens are small but receptive. A big plus is that carts (vehicles) are allowed in most fairways making play much more enjoyable than elsewhere. At 66 years of age, hiking back and forth with several clubs, like at some other courses, makes for a tiring day of golf. Highly recommended and the clubhouse and staff are charming and efficient.

An Enjoyable and Challenging course

We really enjoyed playing this course. It was not cheap but worth every Euro. A huge variety between each hole and most were quite challenging and certainly interesting. Some of the greens are quite small but consistent and well paced. The only negative was the bunkers which were filled with dirt not sand. The Pro shop staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall this is the best course we have played so far in Spain.

Played with Albrecht voucher book without any problems

Since we lived in Malaga city anyway, I looked through the Albrecht. In D-Albrecht there are 50% vouchers for Anjoreta, which were accepted without any problems at a price of €39/18 holes. The clubhouse and restaurant have been completely renovated and now look very good compared to what I remember. The much-cited drought was clearly visible. Some ponds were empty, the fairway was still yellow green, the greens were somehow green and boggy? and concrete fast. The course is hilly and varied. Sometimes you tee off near the "Autobahn". Then it's louder.
A good drive was once acknowledged with honking and waving so close you were. played 2 times. The 1 time with a cart but with a carrying bag made it more fun for us. Didn't eat in the restaurant. 1 x too late and the 2nd time was a flamenco party. What we thought was cool is the golf bar 300m up the road overlooking Green 10? located. Right next to the driving range. Lounge style with Cafe del Mar DJ and distant views under trees.
